Semi-sweet endings!
No, the term semi-sweet doesn't refer to delicious chocolate chips, it refers to these fics that either end in bittersweet angst or end ambiguously so you are left wondering what happens... some people like the 'you get to decide yourself how it ends!' but I want an ending, damn it! PREFERABLY one that goes
'and they lived happily ever after, the end!'
I know that lots of people DON'T like happy endings and a lot of people argue 'real life doesn't always have a happily ever after!' but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!
I read stories because they are FICTION! Sure, angst it up, I LOVE me some good angst...
but it better have a happy ending damn it!
And as far as semi-sweet endings, I don't mean like I've had where like... something terrible happens but you get the sense it's on the up and up... NO! I'm tired of 'and they lived happily for now but with the hint that they'll never make it work' or 'they can't be together but they WEEAAALLY do love each other *cheesy smile*'
... dude... I enjoy one every once in a while, but there's a few authors that I read because they are amazing writers yet EVERY. DAMN. STORY is either a 'happily ever UNTIL SOMETHING BETTER COMES ALONG!!!' or an ambiguous ending that leaves you wondering.
