More Music Videos Sorry, already late for class, but AWWWWWWWWWW *sniffles*
that was amazing.
OKAY! Now I can really start opening the discussion:
HOLY FUCKING SHIIIITT!!!!!!
Dude, I have trouble not flailing at the moment (though I watched it this morning, I just watched it a second time and CANT HELP FLAILING).
Okay, first off I want to say it straight: This is one of the BEST videos I've EVER seen. Hands down. AMAZING. This video deserves to win like... SO many awards (though it probably wont). I was kinda bummed after seeing everybody's flaily reactions to the album that I was just 'wow this is a good album' not "OMFG AHHHH AMAZING *dies*!" Because to me the album ISNT really flail-worthy, just a good album. HOWEVER! This video makes up for ALL of that. I mean, Na Na Na was a great and fun video (and incidentally my favorite song off the album) but this video... wow... dude... if it were a movie it would deserve an Oscar, lmao. Seriously.
Seriously, the concept, the plot, the DESIGN, the ACTING, omfg, EVERYTHING was amazing. I mean... I cannot stress to you how many levels this video WINS on. See, like... you KNOW whats happening. And Gerard especially is an amazing actor in this one. The others are great too, but like... you KNOW from the start by the look on his face that its basically a suicide mission. His face in the car on the way in is this look of grim determination. You know already what's going to happen! And I mean, its a classic 'storming the castle' thing... it is one of those valor driven hero-scenes only set in this alternate reality as opposed to some like... medieval battle scenerio.
Seriously, in my head, I'd parallel it in a way to the part (yes, my geek side is emerging now...) in Two Towers where whats left of them is holed up in the hall at Helms Deep after the walls have been breeched and they KNOW they're gonna die and they still decided 'fuck this, we're going down fighting!'.
The only difference is, in this video its more of a "look guys, we're all going to probably die, but we have to die trying to save her".
The little girl who plays Mini-Ray is SERIOUSLY good for her age. She looks SO into the scene in every little part. Your heart is actually breaking for her when she's seeing all her friends dying and then right at the last moment Ray gets it and she is standing there for a second looking SO lost until they pull her into the van... she's really great.
*goes into more epic flails and then goes to watch AGAIN* Seriously, you guys, this is one of the BEST videos I've EVER seen and I'd really love to hear YOUR take on it. How was YOUR reaction to it? Are you as impressed as I am?
