I've got three more applications today. I had four i already turned in at restaurants and these are for stores.
NGL I dont REALLY want to work at either of the clothing stores. There is little I hate more than folding clothes (omfg, do I ever) BUT if nobody else will hire me, I'll work there. I wanna work at Bath and Bodyworks, omfg, they have to keep it cool in there because of all the shit they have and OMFG, it was the ONLY place in the mall that wasnt 923409234092384 degrees.
I'd RATHER work at the restaurants, HOWEVER, i'm not applying to any more. Those are the only four in town expensive enough I'd make any money, and it would be all in tips. In the state of GA, the minimum wage for tipped employees is only $2.13, so anywhere i'm making less than correct tips on $30+ tickets isnt worth the time. I mean, at any of the places I applied, I know people who make $100+ just on friday night.
I've probably been asking too much in wages on my applications but with how much gas costs in the summer, the fact we only have an SUV, and I'll have to be taken and picked up (4 trips), its not really worth it if i'm only making minimum wage. After taxes and gas, partime at minimum wage ($7.25)would have me making like... psh, $90 or less a week. And sure, that sounds better than nothing, and it IS... but working my ass off FOLDING CLOTHES *shudders* would suck a lot.
IDEALLY I can get the job as a hostess at Red Lobster. I know a chick who started there at $8/hr. and was getting like... 25 hours a week. That or the waitressing jobs at either Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesdays, or Longhorn. All of those i asked around and know people who make AT LEAST $50 in tips every thursday-sunday night. That would be really great if I could get that.
Idk, all I know is I need to get a decent paying job (No less than %7.75/hr) with decent hours (at least 20, preferably 25), because I could REALLY be spending my summer doing better stuff (writing, hanging out with my siblings...*snickers*, sleeping since I wont when the semester starts) than waitressing or *cringe* folding and hanging up clothes in a store.
And just starting out, its hard to get anything above minimum wage!
