Bob’s birthday started well. Patrick woke him up with a blowjob, then let him go back to sleep. He woke up the next time to an excited Patrick rushing into the bedroom with his hands on his stomach.

“BOB!” he cried, shaking him as he crawled on the bed beside him. “BOBBY! WAKE UP!” he cried, shaking him.

Bob groaned and rolled over. “What?” he grumbled, snuggling into Patrick’s thigh, only to receive a thump to the head. “Ow, what?!” he asked, lifting himself up to his elbows.

Patrick gasped suddenly, then snatched Bob’s hand. “Be really still.” He said, then placed Bob’s fingertips against his belly, on the left side. Bob frowned at his action, only to gasp and still as he felt a soft flutter against his fingertips. He held his breath and then let it out with an excited sound as he felt a small jab to his fingers.

“Oh, Patrick.” Bob whispered, biting his lip as he pressed back gently, smiling when the baby kicked his fingers again. He looked up at Patrick, who was beaming. “Wow.” He said softly.

Patrick finally burst out with a loud excited squeal, clapping excitedly. “BOB! Jellybean is kicking! Not just little flutters and movements, she is KICKING!” he said, grinning. He just beamed, wrapping his arms around his middle.

Bob knew to anybody else it would look like he was sulking, with his arms crossed over his stomach and his head down, but Bob knew he was holding their daughter in the only way he could. Bob just wrapped his arms around Patrick, nuzzling into his side as Patrick removed his hand. Bob kissed his shirt-covered side and smiled. “Hey there, Jellybean.” He said with a smile, lips pressed against the spot where he had felt her. “I don’t know if you can hear me or not, but it’s daddy.” He said, smiling up at Patrick who was beaming down at him. Patrick shifted to sit against the head of the bed so Bob could curl into his side and talk to his belly. Bob wrapped his arms around Patrick and stroked his other side as he pressed kisses to the spot where his daughter was still pressing every little while. “I love you.” Bob said, pressing his lips to Patrick’s shirt, and Patrick knew he wasn’t talking to him for once. “You are my baby girl, and we’re going to have so much fun together when you get here.” Bob said, forehead pressed into Patrick’s ribs. “Daddy loves you-“ Bob had no idea why, but he could feel a lump growing in his throat. “I love you so much.” He said tightly, feeling his eyes stinging. He held it in for a moment, but couldn’t resist. “You are the best thing to ever happen to me, Jellybean.” Bob gasped out, feeling tears on his cheeks. He smiled softly. “You and your dad are the most important things in the world and I love you both so much.” He said, and Bob felt a hand soothing through his hair. “When you get here, me and your dad are going to make sure you’re always happy and have everything you ever need. And we both already love you more than anything else. You’re so precious, and I already know you’re the most beautiful thing in the world and-“ he sniffled wetly. “And I can’t wait to see you, and to hold you, and to give you everything I can to make you so happy. I know it’s a long time, but I can’t wait to be your daddy. I want to hold your hand, I want to help you put on your shoes, I want to sneak you extra ice cream when your dad says no, and even if I hate it then, I can’t wait to play dolls with you, and brush your hair.”

He was full on crying from happiness and Patrick was just beaming as he stroked Bob’s hair. He was more used to the baby and wasn’t so emotional, but he understood that this was the first interaction with her that Bob had ever had. Bob had always been as involved as he could be with Patrick’s pregnancy, but now he had finally really felt the product of their love underneath his fingertips. He could understand how beautiful a moment it had been for Bob. Patrick was pulled from his loving reverie by a small laugh.

“And I’ll hate it more than anything, but I can’t wait for you to grow into the beautiful young woman I know you will be. Even if I end up going to prison over boys, I know you’ll be so beautiful all the boys will follow you around the way they follow your dad because of how beautiful he is.” He said, and Patrick blushed slightly. He had a feeling Bob wasn’t even paying attention to what he said, so he genuinely meant what he said. “And even though I’ll hate it, and I don’t want to ever give you up, one day I hope you can meet the perfect companion like I did and have your own baby so you can fully understand just how much I love you, Jellybean.” He said, and Patrick fought an ‘aww’. “I hope one day you are just as happy as I am, if not even happier. Because you’re too perfect and too amazing to grow up anything but perfectly happy.” He kissed Patrick’s stomach, pushing his shirt up. “But, for now I just want you to stay safe in there, and grow good so that when the time comes, you can come see your daddy and make me the happiest person in the whole world.”

The doorbell rang and Bob was snapped from his reverie of stroking Patrick’s side with his finger. He kissed his stomach then sat up, blushing furiously as he wiped at his cheeks. “Shit, that’s gonna be somebody from my band.” He said, voice hoarse and eyes embarrassed.

Patrick sat up, pulling his shirt back down. “Hey.” He kissed Bob, stroking his face. “You are the best fiancé ever and you are going to be the best daddy ever.” He said, kissing him sweetly again. “You have nothing to be ashamed of for loving our little girl, but if you want a minute, I’ll go let them in and you can come in when you’re comfortable.” He said, and Bob just hugged him.

“You are the most amazing person, Patrick. You’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen and on top of physical beauty, you’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever met. And even beyond beauty, you’re giving me the best gift I could ever have.” He said, holding Patrick close to him.

Patrick just giggled. “Bobby, your mom just wanted a grandkid. She gave you this just as much as me.” He said. He kissed Bob softly and tenderly, trying to convey nothing but love to him. “And, you gave this gift to me as well, here.” He said smiling. “It takes two to make a baby.” He said, grinning. “But it’s alright. I understand you’re emotional.” He teased, and Bob just laughed wetly, sniffling.

“I’m turning into Gerard.” He said, then cringed. “That’s worse than a woman!” he said, and Patrick just smiled and let Bob kiss his forehead before he stepped out of his arms and went to let the guys in.

He opened the door and smiled when Mikey and Gerard came in. “Hey, where’s Frank and Ray?” he asked.

Gerard snorted. “Krista and Ray were arguing about having kids again, so Frank went to pick him up after Krista took the car.” He said. “Ray really wants one, dude.” He said, laughing. “Like, pretty much he’s always had the secret want to be a dad, but since he’s seen me with Bandit, and you and Bob are pregnant, he’s REALLY serious about wanting a kid.” He said.

Patrick grinned, sitting down in his favorite chair as they sat on the couch. “Well, Jellybean just started kicking this morning, so we’ve both been excited all day. I can understand Ray.” He said.

Mikey looked around. “Where’s Bob? You know, since this is supposed to be his birthday ‘hang out’ thing.” He asked.

Patrick beamed. “He was crying like a little girl and he’s probably trying to calm himself down and not look like he’s been crying.” He said. “He actually said ‘oh God, I’m turning into Gerard, and that’s worse than a woman!’ when I left him.” He said, and Gerard huffed while Mikey laughed at him.

Mikey snickered. “Dude, why is Bob all emotional? Gerard has to have a vagina, I’m sure, but Bob’s manly.” He said.

Patrick just smiled and rubbed his belly. “Well, look at it like this: I’ve had this baby in me for a long ass time. Like, five months.” He said and Mikey cringed. “I’m well used to her there. And he’s used to knowing she’s there, but her kicking is the first time he’s felt her move and the very first time he’s got to interact with his daughter.” He said, and Gerard beamed.

Mikey smiled. “I don’t really see crying over it, but I can understand that being emotional. I don’t want kids, and neither does Alicia, but I can imagine after how much I love my niece, how insanely intense having a baby would be.” He said.

“Bob started crying and outlining to her everything he can’t wait to do with her.” Patrick said. “For hold her for the first time, to hoping she grows up and has a baby of her own so she’ll be as happy as he is.” He said, beaming. “Then he had to THANK me for being pregnant.” He said, rolling his eyes.

Gerard smiled. “Patrick, it’s something amazing. I mean, you can love someone as much as possible, but them giving you a child is something so beautiful you love them even more for it.” He said. “Even if it’s accidental.” He added.

Patrick laughed. “Yeah, I know. I mean…” he cringed. “I love them both, but Pete and Ashlee shouldn’t have ever worked. I mean, from the very beginning I never understood how they kept it together, but dude… when she told him she was pregnant and wanted to keep it, I was so sure he was going to nut up and throw himself into the road or something.” He said. “I was like… getting ready for ‘beat sense into Pete’ mode… and like… as soon as he unfroze and stopped the ‘oh God!’s he like… went to see her and came back the next day with ‘be my best man’.” He said. “Even then, I was so scared he was fucking up, but dude… you cannot find a man who loves his wife more than Pete.” He said, shaking his head. “I mean, he LOVED her before she got pregnant, but Pete used to fall in love with someone who made a really good latte that morning.” He pointed out.

Mikey snorted. “Yeah, when he got married I was shocked, because I didn’t think he’d ever figure shit out.” He said.

Gerard just scoffed. “I totally love my wife more than anybody else in the world.” He said, beaming.

Mikey shot him a look. “Dude, you have no room to talk about ‘shouldn’t have worked’!” he said. “I mean, I could tell you were seriously in love with her when you said ‘oh hey, we’re getting married after the show!’ after only KNOWING each other BARELY a few months.” He pointed out. “The fact you two idiots are perfect for each other is insane.” He said, shooting Patrick a look. “You and Bob flirted around for AGES and then my brother, the relationship-phobe, met and married a woman in months.” He said. “How the hell did that happen?!” he asked.

Patrick shrugged. “I’m sure if we weren’t both geeks and weren’t both shy me and Bob would’ve been like that. I mean, you don’t even know how it was, because I’ve never even told Bob this, I don’t think, but I swear, the first time he smiled at me I knew it right then, even if I denied it to myself, that I was going to spend my life with him.” He said, blushing shyly. “Although that was a few weeks of hanging out before he really smiled at me.”

Gerard nodded. “Exactly! I mean, yeah, maybe ‘love at first sight’ isn’t real, but like… just a few weeks and one kiss and I swear to you, I don’t know if I’m part woman or what, but I knew I was gone. Done. I had my happily ever after and just had to make it happen.” He said.

Mikey shrugged. “It was different for me with Alicia. I mean, we were together a while before we even started talking love and commitment and stuff.” He said. “We didn’t really mean to fall in love with each other, if you get me.” He said, shrugging.

Gerard nodded. “Yes I do know you’re a former man-whore.” He said, sighing dramatically. “My poor baby brother. Had more ass than Gene Simmons.” He said, sighing.

Mikey flipped him off. “Fuck you, I actually knew every person I’ve slept with. Friends with more fun isn’t being a whore.” He said, and Patrick scoffed.

“Dude, I’ve only slept with three people in my whole life.” Patrick pointed out. “I dated my first girlfriend for four years, my second for about half a year, then I was actually still dating her when Bob and I got together, so I broke it off with her to be with him.” He said.

Mikey snorted. “I’m older, and I’ve totally only had real sex with one guy, the other few were just blowjobs.” He said, and Gerard made a whining noise.

“Oh God, did Mikey say blowjob?” Bob asked, walking into the room. “I know the Gerard nose for Mikey talking about sucking dick.” He teased, shoving at Mikey playfully. He sat down on the chair beside Patrick’s, taking his hand between them. “Why are you guys talking about blowjobs?” he asked.

Gerard smirked. “Well, it started on you crying like a little girl-“ Bob blushed and glared at Patrick, who just batted his eyelashes at him. “And got to relationships and Patrick mentioned he’s only been with three people and Mikey had to defend himself.” He said, sighing heavily.

Bob just smiled. “I’m going to be with just one person for the rest of my life.” He said, smiling at Patrick. “Can we tell them?” Bob asked.

Patrick nodded, and turned back. “We’ve decided to have the wedding before the baby.” Patrick supplied. “We’ve decided to only invite around twenty people, and two of them are best men, so we don’t have to hide the fact that I’ll probably be a good six and a half months pregnant.” He said, smiling.

Bob nodded. “Just our parents, his brother, our bands, and the wives.” He said, nodding. “Then the two babies.” He added.

Patrick nodded. “I guess legally we’ll be… whatever you call it when you register for Domestic Partnership…” he and Bob both shrugged. “We’ll be that like, in two weeks.” He said, smiling. “BUT, in my mind, the wedding is when I’ll be married to him.” He said.

Gerard nodded. “So you’re gonna do that? The ‘domestic partnership’ thing?” he asked, looking a little uneasy.

Patrick shrugged. “I can legally take his last name, we can make healthcare decisions for each other, we’ll have spousal hospital visitation privileges, and the legal presumption that we’re both fully parents of our baby, since nobody can know where she comes from.” He said. “And he’ll be my benefactor if I kick it.” He said, shrugging. “It’s not marriage, but it’s either that or just a wedding ceremony with no extra rights.” He said.

Bob kissed his knuckles. “Plus the making decisions for each other, and having spousal hospital rights is a big deal for when the baby comes.” He said. “I mean, otherwise I won’t be able to be in the room when they do the c-section, and if anything were to happen to him, I wouldn’t have any say in what was done.” He said. “We’re just getting our lawyers to set everything up and then once we’ve got the all clear, we’ll go register.” He said.

Patrick smiled. “Gerard, would you like to help us plan our wedding?” he asked, and Bob smiled at Gerard, who beamed.

“YES! I would LOVE to help you!” he said, clapping. “It just sucks your wedding will be so small.” He said.

Mikey just patted his arm. “Just think. Less people, more artistic freedom.” He said, and Gerard beamed scarily.

Patrick cringed. “Oh God, we unleashed a monster!” he said, and Bob just laughed, curling his fingers into Patrick’s tighter.
