EyeCon: Jared Day!
i'm sure everyone already knows EVERY.SINGLE.WORD Jared said but i'm typing this out for my benefit. skip if you want, but if you read, i'll love you forever! haha. i'd just scan my notes instead of typing them out, but i can barely read them so i know yall couldnt! i took 10 videos, 1 of which is on my phone and i dont know how to change the file type and i tried to upload as many as i could, but only 4 went through. so here i am typing them out which takes forever! yay! why do you think it took so long to post? haha.
he came out,
sat down and looked at one girl and said "hi there! what are you drinking? is that a mocha frapuccino?" the girl said yes and he said "i totally made that up! people are like he's a huge starbucks fan. he knows what we're drinking just by looking at it!" he started pointing at people and said "youre having a latte, youre having a triple... espresso. we’ve got a lot of espressos!" then he said "where did you come from?" one girl said Austria and he said "g'day mate! i had to do dumb and dumber. have yall seen dumb and dumber? g'day, mate. Reno. nice. its just a short trip to vegas. i have been like, Jared/Vegas, Jared/Vegas, Jared… I’m going to Vegas." then he said he "always walks away [from vegas] poorer and fatter". more people said they came from Texas and he said "Texas?" and the girl said "San Antonio" and he said "San Antonio, right on!" then i said "Dallas" and he said "Dallas? I heard Dallas!"
Click to viewhe asked us if we had heard Samantha talk today. "she sounds like this" *talks in a deep voice*. lol. "i was like, what did they do to you, should I be nervous? should I protect myself with some cough drops?" then he said "i was so good with the mocha frapuccino earlier but i’m pushing my luck now. i see a lot of cameras. we should try and get everyone together and do one of those matrix style things where you just flip through the pages. i’ll move really slowly" and then he got up and did this:
"now if we could get everybody to print out one of those and we’ll make a flip book. that would be great. does anybody have any questions? i feel like i’m useless up here unless i serve some kind of purpose."
someone asked about tricks he's played on Jensen and he said that Jensen was "a sneaky old bugger" but that he [Jared] has "done my fair share of things to him. i tell the wardrobe lady to sometimes sew up the underside of his pants so he’s putting his pants on and going *pretends to have trouble putting his pants on*. usually our trailers are right next to each other i’ll hear JARED! so i know i’ve got him! but I learned early on also that as the only two actors on the set normally, unless we have obviously one of our recurring guest stars or temporary guest stars that we need to team up a lot more than we need to work against each other. people like Kim Manners who have been around a few more years in the business than we have. we’re more on the same team now as opposed to against each other. now we’re working a plan against Kim Manners specifically."
this girl said that she wanted to give him something and he said "i’ll take it, please! and thank you so much for your very kind words also. we always say this but we mean it when we say it. yall really are the reason for the show and you know theres a lot of work out there". he read the back of her shirt and he said "Sammy's girl! thats right! that's right! Sammy's girl! pay attention!"
he was talking about Gordon and said "it was one of those hard things because i love Sterling, he's an awesome guy, he's really talented and he's good fun to be around and so i was like i don’t want him to die. but Ii get to kill him really cool so...and so i grabbed the thing and was like what do i do now? but that tended to be the most exciting, also because it’s where we got to see Sam be really bad***." then he looked ashamed for saying that and he said "badbutt." lol.
someone [God Bless this person!] asked him to speak in Latin and he said "how does it start? i think once i get going i can...". someone started it and then he said it! IT WAS SO HOT!!! then he was all proud of himself and threw his arms up in the air. then he said "thats bizarre. what did I just...what just came out of my mouth? what just happened? i hope i didnt curse anybody. that wasn’t directed at anybody. except she came late so its her fault. i’m just kidding. i’m glad youre here safe". SO CUTE!
then someone asked him about demon Sam and he said "i wanted it to be robotic. i wanted to be...i wanted it to be emotionless like all the emotion had gone from Sam and he couldnt hurt anymore. like he had turned off his will to be attached to anything. i wanted it to be very robotic. Kim and I worked it out like, should he be angry? should he be...you know...sad? and we ended up sort of together coming to the idea that he's not anything anymore, it’s gone. he's gone through so much that it's all there. the anger and the sadness but he's just pushed it down so much that he's just on a mission. so that was what I tried to do."
someone asked him what the hardest episode to do was and he said "the hardest? thats a great question. for me the hardest Supernatural episode i ever did was actually the last one we shot before the strike, which aired before Jus in Bello but we actually shot Mystery Spot at the very end. it’s the episode where Dean dies a lot and that was very hard for me because I mean it was a very fun episode to shoot with the talking over each other and everything like that but to have to keep on getting in the mindset of somebody who is watching your brother/best friend die? cause if you dont find the truth in the character and if you dont find the truth in the moment then there's no use in you really acting it because youre just being lazy so i was trying to really commit to it but it was really hard. you know what youre going to shoot and youre like i dont want to shoot that. i dont want to pretend he’s dying. because then i’m gonna get sad and then youre walking around all sad but i’m happy now because he's alive!" AWW!!!
someone asked what names he calls Jensen and he said "i call him Ugly. everybody else calls him Pretty so i know that when i say Ugly, he knows who's talking to him. besides Ugly i’ll say, nerd or... no i'm just kidding." then she asked what names Jensen calls him. he said "he calls me Lord. man I wish I could be.... Idol. Hero. some variation of Giant. Stretch. i get Stretch alot. i f I hear Stretch on the set, i turn around and me walking up to the yoga instructor who’s going stretch! no, there's no yoga instructors on set, that was all in my head."
this little boy asked him who his fave Dallas Cowboy was and he said "my favourite player on Dallas would probably be Jason Whitten. i love Tony Romo but Jason Whitten's a really hard working guy and he makes me think that with hard work and a lot of perseverance, you can get to the top of your game. plus he seems cool. plus he's a lot bigger than i am so if i ever met him, i would want to say that he's my favorite player because he’d probably kick my butt! but I have a Tony Romo jersey. actually my Christmas present from Jensen was a Tony Romo jersey. the same one youre wearing. and he has one too so now me, you and Jensen all have one." the boy just kept standing there not saying anything and Jared was like "cool man! it was nice talking to you buddy!" this other little boy stood up and said "my name is Matt and i think youre cool!" Jared LOVED that and did a fist pump in the air. and then the little boy said "are you gonna save Dean?" Jared said "youre really cool and that's a really good question but there are people cooler than me who will do really bad things to me if i give away the ending. but i just read...obviously Sam’s going to do everything in his power to save Dean and he's going to call on other people who might have powers that Sam does not to help but we're going up against a big bad demon so we don’t know how it's going to work out just yet. thanks for the question man. that's awesome!" then another little boy said that he knew demons werent real, but if they were, would Jared fight them or would he p*** his pants. Jared said "i would run so fast! i know my legs are skinny but they could move fast, unless they were picking on you and then I would get em!" then the little boy said the p*** his pants part again and Jared said "oh. i didnt hear that part!" *shocked face*.
someone asked him if he got confused since he played Dean on Gilmore Girls and there was a Dean on Supernatural. he said "i absolutely did. i absolutely did. at first. now everybody calls us Jared and Jensen but at first, no one knew anybody and so it was Sam and Dean. it was like, Sam’s over there and Dean’s over there and so i’d start walking and then i’d see Jensen and he'd be like, what are you doing? and i’d be, well what are you doing? oh yeah. i'm just seeing how youre doing! and then i would go over to my mark but for a while it was a big learning curve, having to get into the character of Sam."
someone asked him about Born Under a Bad Sign and he said "that was a lot of fun. i would actually say that that ranks up there with Skin because i got to be bad and i like that. that was a lot of fun because Sam got to be tough and i know he had a demon in him to make him tough but tough is still tough, right? i was tired of being like, Dean come save me! it was a lot of fun. you know what’s funny? one of the things I liked about Born Under a Bad Sign is that it pitted the brothers against each other again and not like...it’s not like some repressed thing where I want to fight Jensen or anything...but i think it's just an interesting story to tell. what would turn two brothers against each other? and of course both times it's been either a shapeshifter or a demon and the brothers actually love each other. they're just fighting a demon version of the other and i think it’s an interesting story to tell. and we get along so much that it's fun to fight, you know?"
i wish this video would upload cause it's totally adorable! but i'm sure it's out there somewhere. someone asked him what he was afraid of and he said "Jared is afraid of nothing! i'm totally kidding! you know, we were talking about planes at breakfast and i'm not really scared of flying unless i'm on the flight with somebody who is a bad flier and one time, I was sitting in the aisle and there was a girl sitting on the opposite side of me, she must have been about eight or nine years old and any time there was any turbulence or any noise she would go like this *tenses up in his seat* and at first it sorta just caught me and i was like *acts jumpy* and i was like oh she's alright but then she kept on getting so jumpy that i was like *jumps and fidgets in his seat* and i was like, man if she's so scared then i should be scared too! sort of that crazy, if one person is doing it then the other person wants to do it too. so i'm scared by eight year old girls i guess."
someone told him that he was her fave and he said "talk some more! talk some more!" lol. this next part makes me sad :[. she said that meeting Sandy was refreshing and that he was blessed to have her and he said "i am. i am. thank you so much. thank you for your support of Sandy. she is a doll and i'm glad you guys are nice to her because i have big friends who will kick your butt if you're not nice to her!" aww :[. and the girl gave him a gift and he said "look at me! i'm gonna play with my stuff. you all talk some." haha.
someone asked him how long it took for them to do the part in Mystery Spot where they mimick each other. he said "it took a while. not as long as you would think but since he's not here i'm going to completely blame it on Jensen! and i'm going into detail! uh there was a line...i can't exactly remember what the line is, it's Sam Winchester wears makeup. Sam Winchester cries..." [audience: "cries his way through sex"] *Jared laughs*. "okay it was something where the line where we say, and every morning when he wakes up...okay, enough. he [Jensen] would do it too early. he'd say, and every morning when wakes up...okay enough. and i'd be like, youre supposed to say, he and then so, i wouldnt say he because i figured he wasnt going to say it and then he'd say it and i was like, what are we doing? he'd like skip a line. we ride together to work, every day we get picked up and go to work and so we have about 30-35 minutes at the beginning of the day to go through our lines and to think of ideas and to run through cool moments and what we're going to do. so we knew that day was going to be big because they wanted it to be very crisp and so we just read. i had him read it a bunch of times because the idea is that Sam is mimicking Dean and so i wanted to know how he would say it as Dean. so i had him read it. again. again. again. again and i started, kinda of doing it silently as he was doing it and i was like, alright let's try it. and so we gave it a shot and also right before that scene we sat in his trailer and just sat and then we sort of put our heads down and went straight to set and we were like, dont talk to us! we have to go! we’re in the zone! and then we got to set and he ruined it all anyway! but yeah, that was a lot of fun. when i read that i was like, that is going to be really fun to shoot and the only part, the hardest part was not laughing because everybody else was laughing. i also remember which is weird but as youre doing it, youre so surprised and happy that it worked that you sort of forget that you have another line coming. so youre like, you don’t know everything. yes i do. really? yeah! Sam Winchester wears makeup. and we'd be like, we did it! oh yeah. Sam Winchester cries his way through sex. we did it again! and so you keep on getting excited that youre doing that, you stop to think how cool it was and youre like, yeah, we kick a**! kick butt! but we ended up getting it on camera so i guess it worked."
someone asked him what he was gonna miss the most about filming Supernatural and he said "i know from sort of experience, that i sort of dealt with this during the strike cause you know, we didnt know if it was over or not and i sort of starting missing things about the show cause we didnt know if we were coming back. and I missed the camaraderie. i missed the camaraderie that this shows breeds even between us sitting here today. from the producers and the writers and the people who are making the show to everybody who work on the cast and crew to everybody who keeps the show going and theres a real family aspect to it. i've worked on some great shows. Gilmore Girls, I had a great time. i got along with everybody. i made buddies. i just ran into Milo a week ago and it was like old times but this has been such a family. i've seen so many faces and gotten so much support that i feel like from the support of the fans of this show alone, i could go for the rest of my career and not to get anymore support would be fine because people have been so supportive and so i'd have to say just the general camaraderie and brotherhood and family that Supernatural has built. that we're all a part of so thank you guys." someone thanked him for coming and he said "crazy, crazy busy but this is a pleasure. but that's work and this is why I work." AWW WE LOVE YOU TOO JARED! someone gave him a drawing of Harley and Sadie and he said "no one drew my dogs for me when i was on Gilmore Girls!" lol "that's what i'm saying, the people in the show...we've become a brotherhood and sisterhood. guess mostly a sisterhood. i'm inducted into the sisterhood? dont tell my fiance!" then some girl said that Rory sucks! and he said "i agree! i agree!" lol. he was asked who he wanted to work with and he said "i guess if i could choose a guest star it would be Johnny Depp." JD on Supernatural would be amazing!
i dont feel like typing up the whole fave Supernatural characters question, but this was my fave part. "and there's this demon that says Sam was supposed to be the leader and she's trying to get him to turn demonoid. demonoid? mandroid?" aww reminds me of Andy!
and of course, someone asked the dreaded wincest question. he handled it VERY well though. he said "i'm obviously a little spooked by wincest because im like, is that Jensen? EW!" this girl thanked him for being him and he said "thank yall very much. i didnt do anything so thank yall for your support." she then asked him to give Jensen a hug for her and he said "cant promise that! but um...maybe i'll throw something at Jensen!" someone said something about hugging Sandy and he said "i'll hug her. idk about Jensen, but i'll hug Sandy!" aww :[.
yasmine32068 said that she went to ask Sandy a question and Sandy smiled and she forgot what she was gonna say. Jared said "i can do that!" *smiles and giggles like Sandy*.
someone asked him to make the "i lost my shoe" face and it was PRECIOUS! he said "alright, but i'm going to need everybody in the audience on three to say Action! cause an actor cant act without action. so 1.2.3." *we all yelled Action* and then he made the face :]. then he said "someone call cut! cut! cut" *we all yelled cut*. "thank you. i was in the moment!"
someone asked him if he was the Santa in A Very Supernatural Christmas and he said "no. that was my stunt double. Mike Carpenter has been my stunt double since Wendigo and he was actually the scarecrow going through the thing and Jensen shoots him. really creepy and great...the fugly one, that's right. that's right. he was that and he was also the bad Santa."
someone asked him about his fave Western and he said "i'd totally say that the Good the Bad and the Ugly is my favorite, not just to steal from you, but that's what originally got me into westerns. it's my father's second favorite movie. his favorite is Ben Hur and his second favorite was the Good the Bad and the Ugly and so he would watch it regularly and so id sit down, at first, when I was a kid I was like, i need more explosions. you know, what's with all the sand and stuff? but now i've grown older, i've thought that it would be cool to be tough and i'd go with the Good the Bad and the Ugly." i have a funny story about this later when i post my photo ops stories :].
someone said her friends wouldnt go to a con cause they were afraid of celebs and Jared said "yeah. we do bite!*chatters teeth* "that was so easy!" the girl said that the question was for her friend and Jared said "i love how she blames her friends first. this is gonna be like, what size underwear do you wear? for my friend...who couldnt make it". he talked about stunt scenes and said "when they tell you youre going to do a funt scene. a scene. a stunt scene. funt? what's a funt snene?" someone asked him how he was going to make Friday the 13th different than the others and he said "faces. lots of faces. i'm just naked the whole time". first the underwear comment, now this. oh Jared!
someone told him about watching Supernatural in German and he said "when they told me they were going to dub me with a German, I was like, sweet! i'm gonna sound tough. now she's telling me that it's a German girl that's doing it. fantastic!" *says Dean in a girlie voice*. "who did that? i could talk a little lower if you'd like!" *lowers voice*. "actually that would hurt my throat. i tried. so much for acting tough!"
and now for my lame question. but i just wanted to say something! haha. this may not be 100% correct cause it's on my phone and i cant understand everything.
Jared: ok. where's the next one? i lost track of it.
me: this is a dumb question but back the Dallas Cowboys...
Jared: alright!
me: what do you think about them possibly changing their name to Irving Cowboys? because i'm from Texas and i think it's retarded.
Jared: they better not! they've never been in Dallas! they've always been in Irving, even with the new stadium.
me: um sorry...i mean... i heard they were going to change it to the Arlington Cowboys.
Jared: oh really?!
me: so how about them Arlington Cowboys just sounds retarded.
Jared: yeah! plus i dont know how to spell Arlington! Dallas is so much easier! i think they better not! i dont think they will, but I think they better not!

Jared: that's the plan. I mean...
me: i hope so.
Jared: i hope so. we'll keep everyone informed as it gets closer but with the shooting of the movie and everything, alot is up in the air. you know?

when they told him it was time for his last question, he said "i know! i'm sorry! believe me i'll talk up here all day long! i can even do a song and dance! thank you guys. i think that means that's everything. thank you all so much! thank yall for coming out! thank you! thank you! thank you! thanks guys!" *applauds us.* AWW! he went to sign the poster and made faces at himself. SO cute!
the lighting SUCKED in the panel room and there was the ugliest painting behind him the whole time, so these arent the best pics i have ever taken. but i'm posting them anyway. what's weird though is that the videos are clear! my Dallas Con pics are 100% better. i'm VERY happy with those! but it'll be a while before those are posted.
