Metalfest 101
I took 101 pictures at Metalfest so obviously I’m not gonna post them all. Just a few of my faves. A link to all of them is at the end of the entry. Sorry, if you want to see them, you have to scroll! *muahahaha*
*warning!* this is really long and mainly only for my benefit but if you wanna read, go right ahead.
We got there around 1230/1ish. Thank God we missed William Bonnie cause honestly I cant stand to watch them cause the singer disgusts me. Seriously. Besides, they suck anyway.
The first band we watched was Paris. I havent seen Gabe, Merrell and Jay in about 2 years. I’ve really missed them. I don’t know why, but I honestly didn’t think Gabe would speak, but he did and I actually got 2 hugs outta him. Merrell was surprised I spotted him out of that crowd, but I did cause I’m awesome like that haha. I didn’t recognize Jay at first cause he didn’t have his glasses. I told him he looked different and he thought I meant it in a bad way. I didn’t though. He’s still a little cutie :). I only took 3 pics though cause my foot got SMASHED and I was writhing in my pain and I couldn’t think straight lol. It was def. weird watching them though cause I’m used to them being punk and Gabe on vocals. And I first saw Klink and Jason after Paris' set :D.
We just kinda wandered around after that running into people from where else?! Our crappy little middle of nowhere unless you’ve been here and know where its at town. Ha go figure.
Then it was time for The Last Starfighter. Seriously, they get better and better every time I see them. Sucks that they live in Houston though. I swear, the singer has SO much energy. I love watching them and I absolutely LOVE their message. Something along the lines of "theres more important things out there then this". Rock on!! God Bless you guys!!
The next band we watched was Enjoy the Fall. Again, didn’t get too many pics because it was a tight squeeze in there and hard to hold the camera up. I live for their last song. haha its so hott. lol. And it gets stuck in my head. I could seriously listen to it for hours. Oh wait…. I actually have! But I lost everything on my computer and its gone now. *tear*
You know I’ve never seen the big fuss over Johnny Texas before. But I actually just stood and watched them this time and they weren’t half bad. And I get a kick outta watching Klink get so excited over the bands. hehe
Just caught like a minute of The Destro. Ack. They thought they were oh so bad as in awesome, but no. they were just plain good ol fashioned BAD.
I’m sorry Knockout Kings, I know My Son My Executioner are friends of yours, but they suck. Mainly cause [and maybe its just me] the singer seemed awfully cocky and I cant stand that.
A Dying Faith…seriously WHAT THE HECK?! They said something like “this is a metal show not church” and HOW FUNNY IS THIS?! They were the ONLY band that experienced technical difficulties. They kept blaming their CRAPPY performance on that. They kept saying it and kept saying it til finally I yelled “no that’s not the problem. Yall just SUCK. Period.” I got a lot of giggles from people on that one. haha.
So I just walked outside looking for people to watch Knockout Kings while Matt saved my spot in front of the stage. When I came back in, Couey [one of the guys from our town] pointed at my angel tat and here’s the convo that followed:
Him: wow that’s a Slaughter song.
Me: yeah it was played at my sister’s funeral.
Him: my mom was totally in love with that guy.,
Me: yeah Mark Slaughter.
Him: yeah that’s him.
Me: my fave is Bret Michaels. He’s my husband. *big smile*
Him: *points at my Poison shirt.* who that guy?!
Me: *gasp* no that’s Rikki! THIS is Bret!
Cameron: *arms in the air* Yeah Robert Plant!
Me: ew yuck. *laughs*
haha I just thought it was funny. Anywho…I told them that I would personally beat them up myself if they told me they didn’t like Knockout Kings :). Cause I may be little, but make me mad…lol
KNOCKOUT KINGS TIME! Yes the reason I went. Like you didn’t know that! haha [ok I really do say that way too much!] I’m not lying when I say they were the best band there. They’re the best band anywhere. No joke. And no not just cause I know the guys either. I would love them if I didn’t know them from Adam. They’re AMAAAAZZZIIIINGGG. If you missed their set, well then you missed out and well…you SUCK!After their first song, I turned around to Couey, Cameron and Michael and motioned thumbs up or thumbs down and they gave a thumbs up :D. “I hope they arent just saying that cause they don’t wanna get beat up by a girl!!” but seriously, I made them give me their honest opinion after the show and they said that they really did like them. Hmm…*wonders if I can get rides to shows now* Hahahahaha jk jk. But yeah, you seriously have NO IDEA WHATSOEVER how much I love these guys. And not just cause they’re an amazing band. They’re wonderful guys too. I know when I’m at Knockout Kings show, that I’m appreciated, that I’m actually wanted there. They’re sweethearts and I love them to death. I’m honored to know them :D. oh man I’m gonna miss them when they go on tour!! *cries* I still say I need to go on tour with yall and (in theory!) lol wishful thinking :). *sigh*

A Faith Called Chaos never does it for me-I just cant get into them. So I just walked around waiting for (in theory) to play cause yeah I *heart* them.
Good Lord. (in theory) rock! Those boys can PLAY. Wow talent. Yes even you Alan! hahaha if you suck, then Matt wishes he sucked! I really don’t know what else to say. You guys know you’re awesome. *hint* talk KK into letting me go with yall on tour*hint* hehe
Well that was really the last band we watched. Matt watched Dryline I think cause I was outside looking for my boys to tell them bye and he‘s under 21 so he had to stay inside. I’m sorry, call me mean, but I think its funny how I can go in and out a million times and he cant. I’m horrible! I said bye to Jason, Brad, Jared and Austin about 10 million times and looked for Klink everywhere. When I was outside, he was inside and vice versa. Found him! Yay! After we said bye about 10 million more times and Klink almost knocked my glasses off because he squeezed me so hard lol.
Got some crap from people for not staying longer, but I had my reasons. One, I didn’t feel good. Two,got made fun of cause I said I wanted to get home to my puppy. Laugh all you want, he’s my baby and he missed me. And three, I’m real funny when it comes to watching bands I don’t know. I don’t like it and very rarely will I ever do it.
Disappointed that I only saw one Knockout Queen [Holli]. Whitt, Stephie, Jess, Ash, Donna and Jessi were missed. Figured Mo and Mike would be there but didn’t see them. And never saw Robert either. But other than that, I had fun. Oh and I saw Eric [Lizz’s husband]. I knew who he was but I wasn’t gonna say anything cause I didn’t think he would know who I was, but he spoke to me first. Lizz told him to say hi for me. I love her! I havent seen her in forever though. We talked about kiss and Poison. hehe. And adorable Hot Topic girl was there. And there was with one extremely HOTT guy with eyeliner on that I kept staring at all night. He noticed it too haha. And I swear, it seems like everywhere I went, he was there and I didn’t want him to think I was following him, so I kept going the other direction. But seriously, don’t wear eyeliner around me if you don’t want me to stare a hole through you! And I lost my Kings crown button that i made :(. So yeah that was my night.
