Because everyone's at work and I'm bored, I bring you the Concert Meme, gacked from geoviki

- What was your first concert?  Either Loverboy or Journey.  They were both around the same time and I can't remember which was first.  They were both in '82 at the Calgary Corral.

- What was the last concert you attended?  Abbamania if that counts as a concert.

- Who was the best band to see live?  Best bands I've seen live back in the day were Supertramp, Heart, and AC/DC.   I've seen other concerts that were just as good or better but not necessarily bands.

- What was your LIFE CHANGING concert you attended?  Melissa Etheridge for sure.  It was outdoors, at sunset, on the pier in Seattle and it was attended by such an amazing mix of gay/straight, male/female, young/old.  It's the only time other than at Pride that I've been in such an inclusive environment.  Everyone sang along and it was an experience I will never forget.

- Have you ever gotten anything from a band?  Free tapes/cd's from up and coming local bands, but nothing from a big name artist.  I've gotten free tickets to concerts several times, notably Heart, Corey Hart, and Reba McEntire.

- Who was the worst band to see live?  I had a terrible time at an Iron Maiden concert when I was in my teens.  It's not that the concert itself was all that bad but the people/organization/venue, etc were terrible.

- How long was the longest concert you've attended?  I've been to a few outdoor music festivals that last all day and into the evening with a lineup of different artists.  The one that seemed like the longest (although I'm sure it wasn't) was at Race City Speedway in Calgary in the early 90's.  It was Colin James, the Jeff Healey Band, and someone else I don't remember.  It was a great concert but it seemed to go on forever because it was burning hot that day and we had no water.  We were all pretty sick by the end.

- How short was the shortest concert you've attended?  No idea.  I think most were pretty average length.

- What is the worse thing to buy at a concert?  Drugs or alcohol.  You have no idea what's in them.

- What is the best thing to buy at a concert?  Probably cd's.  The only thing I've ever bought were music and the odd shirt.  Shirts are too expensive to buy at concerts these days though.

- Have you ever worn a band shirt to the same band your seeing live?  Yes.

- How long was the longest drive to a concert you attended?  Drove 7 hours from here to Seattle to see Melissa Etheridge and it was worth every minute.

- How short was the shortest drive to a concert you attended?  Concerts at the local park are just down the hill, and the venue for Abbamania is only a five minute drive.  When I was a teen/young adult, concerts were in Calgary about 30 minutes away.

- Do you like seats or the pit better?  Loved the floor when I was younger.  Much prefer seats now.  I can't handle standing that long or the crowds anymore.

- What is the most annoying thing at the concert?  The idiots who push and shove, the bathroom lineups, the people who scream in your ear.

- Indoor or Outdoor concerts?  I love outdoor concerts.

- Day or Night concerts?  Night.

- Small shows or Big shows?  Depends on the locations, the artist, and my mood.  I love small, personal venues but there's something to be said for the atmosphere at huge festivals

- What is the best season for a concert?  Summer evenings

- Do you frame your ticket stubs?  No, but I've kept a few.

- How many concerts have you been to?  Not sure.  Ummmm...if you count the small ones in the park, maybe 50?

- How old were you when you went to your first concert?  13

- What is the closest you've been to a band?  I assume this means seating, in which case, front row.

- Have you ever stage-dived?  No

- Have you ever moshed?  No

- Have you ever crowd surfed?  No

- Do you still have your ticket stubs?  I have a few I think.

- Have you ever snuck into a concert?  No

- Have you ever stolen anything at a concert?  No

- What concert do you really want to go to?  There are many concerts I'd love to go to.  I'd love to see Melissa again, and Blue Rodeo again.  I want to see the Indigo Girls live, and the Dixie Chicks.  Lots of bands, especially classic rock bands I'd pay big money to see....a few country acts too.

- What concert are you planning to go to?  None that I know of right now.

- What band have you seen most in concert?  The only bands I've seen more than once (besides some local ones) are ZZ Top in the 80's and Blue Rodeo more recently.
