Previous chapters Exactly one month ago, you and Brendon signed papers to adopt a little girl. Over the waiting period, you and Brendon have done nothing buy stuff for her. When you were informed that you would only be waiting a month to receive little Jennifer Marie, you bought something for her everyday.
Brendon didn’t like you spending every dime you two had on her before she even got here, but you knew you had plenty of money in the bank. So really it didn’t matter how much you spent. As long as she was happy when she got here.
Currently you and Brendon are sitting in the adoption place, waiting on the lady you filled the forms out with to bring you your daughter. Brendon’ll go in, fill some more forms out and change her name, while Gabe takes you and Jennifer Marie back home.
You’re so excited right now that honestly, you could pee yourself. Brendon’s leg is bouncing, you’re chewing on a fingernail, it’s not even Gabe’s kid and he’s excited.
“Mr. Brendon and Ryan Urie?” the lady and the front desk calls. You and Brendon stand up, leaving Gabe sitting there alone, and walk to the front desk. “Go through the door with the rainbows, please.”
“Thanks,” Brendon replies before heading in that direction. You suddenly become nervous; much more than before. You glance back at Gabe and smile crookedly. He smiles back at you, but his is a big, toothy grin than makes you really smile.
This is why Gabe is your neighbor and exactly why you love it.
Brendon knocks on the door and you squeeze his hand before looking at him. It’s just like before, but this time you’ll be walking out with your little girl. “Come in,” the lady says. Damn you wish you could remember her name.
When you walk in through the door, you could cry in the least. There she is, in a carrier ('cause duh, she can’t walk yet, obviously), sitting on the woman’s desk. You stop where you are, letting go of Brendon’s hand, and you stare. You stare at your beautiful little girl that you’ve wait a whole fucking month to get. “Ryan, baby, she said you can take her now.” Brendon’s suddenly back at your side and you jump a little. “I’ve gotta stay and fill out some more forms. I’ll be home and in an hour or two,” he says.
“O-okay,” you reply, stepping forward towards Jennifer. You grab the handle, sending the scary lady behind the desk a weak smile, and pick up the carrier. It’s heavier than you thought, but this is why we have Gabe Saporta waiting for you. “Bye,” you say as you kiss Brendon.
Gabe is waiting for you outside of the rainbow covered door, ready to take the carrier from you. “I’ll take that, RyRo.”
“Thanks, Gabe.”
“No problem. Are we going home or are you hungry? I know you have a shitload of food for the little one here.”
“Hey! Watch the language around her!” you joke-yell at him. But really; she’s too young to be hearing that language. “I say we go home. I wanna hold her.”
“Awe! But I wanted first hold! Ryyaaaaannnn!”
“NO. She’s my child, and I’ll hold her first. Now take me home.”
Gabe sighs, putting Jennifer in the backseat (facing forward ‘cause she’s old enough, ya know?) before coming around to the driver’s side. “Ya know, you’re a real bitch at times.”
“Nah,” you disagree. You send him a small smile and he sends one back before looking over his shoulder to make sure it’s clear for him to reverse. On the drive back, everything is quiet expect for the music playing on the radio. Jennifer’s been sleeping; thank God, too, 'cause if she would’ve cried in the car you would’ve had a heart attack.
“Hey RyRo, guess what?”
“What, Gabe?”
“You know I try to get close to you. You don’t realize what you’re putting me through. The things I do, yeah I do ‘em for you, and I don’t mean to seem presumptuous, but I feel when you’re lookin’ at me. Don’t hesitate if you like what you see. Don’t be afraid ‘cause I’m settin’ you free. Here’s my philosophy: be my ho ‘cause I’m your money maker. You know I see you workin’ the street. You don’t look back and you don’t miss a beat, but my heart it breaks, when you get on your knees. Why won’t you let me take you home? Boy you know I’m a take care of you. You say you got my baby, but I know it ain’t true. G.A.B.E is coming for you. It’s my philosophy.”
“Okay, if that was some odd way of hitting on me, then stop the car here; I’ll walk the rest of the way.”
Gabe laughs loudly and almost, almost rear-ends the guy in front of you. “Ryan I wasn’t hitting on you.”
“Then what the fuck was that?”
“I’m gonna make it famous. Sound like a plan?”
“Yeah, okay.”
“What; don’t believe me?”
“I think you should try it on William. See if he gets a hint.”
“Oh, right. But I’m being serious. Nate and I’ve discussed this.”
“Who is Nate?”
“My secret lover, obviously. But don’t tell William; he’ll flip.”
“Seriously, Gabe.”
“He’s in my band. Ya know, Cobra Starship? I thought I told you about this? We’re pretty amazing.”
“I bet…,” you say, staring off into space. Gabe continues to talk about his band and all it does it makes you sad. You remember being in a band with Spencer. You even still have your guitar somewhere in the closet. Tonight, you decide, you’ll play Jennifer her lullaby you’ve been working on for a month now.
“Ry, we’re hear,” Gabe says, pulling you out of your own mind. “I’ll carry her up.”
“Thanks.” You unbuckle, get out, and make sure Gabe gets Jennifer out without waking her. She’s just too adorable. You walk to your apartment, unlocking the door for Gabe and whatnot. He sets the carrier down on the couch, hugs you goodbye, and leaves to go hit on William.
You stare at her. She’s adorable, really, and that smirk on her face when she sleeps is amazing. It’s like she knows you’re looking at her and she’s faking it all. You really can’t wait for her to grow up; it’s exciting to think about.
Holy shit. They finally got her! If anybody wants to know what she looks like, tell me and I’ll post a picture in my journal. If so, I’ll post it sometime tomorrow or the next day. I used my bestfriend’s niece so…. SHHHHHH. Lol, she doesn’t KNOW. Anyways, just check my journal frequently and I’ll have a picture of little miss Autumn (who is ADORBALE… and she drools a lot.) And those lyrics were copied out of the CD book thingy. So if they're wrong, I read it wrong or something like that LOL. Comment please!
