My Headband
“Rachel?” Brittany called from the petite singers’ bed.
Rachel looked up from her musical selections and smiled at the tall blonde, “What is it Brittany?”
Brittany’s eyes narrowed in on the other girls’ face. Her eyes flittering as she searched from something that Rachel could not even begin to fathom.
“Can I do your hair?”
Large brown eyes blinked, “I’m sorry?”
Brittany played with a loose piece of her own hair, “Can I do your hair?” she asked again slowly, as though she were talking to a child. At Rachel’s look, the former Cheerio just shrugged, “I’ve always wanted to play with it. It looks soft.”
Rachel nodded, standing from the floor, “I suppose it wouldn’t hurt.” She motioned for Brittany to follow her into the bathroom, “I don’t normally let others do anything to my hair but I can make an expectation.”
Her heart swelled for a moment at the excited smile that came to Brittany’s face. Before she knew it, Rachel found herself turned to face the large mirror in the bathroom with a beaming Brittany behind her. The blonde gently run the brush through her hair before catching the shorter girls’ eyes in the mirror.
“If I hurt you just let me know and I’ll stop.” Rachel nodded in response.
The smile on the blonde’s face grew impossibly larger once given Rachel’s full approval. She gently eased the pink bedazzled brush through the brown strands. Rachel found it hard to keep her eyes open with each stroke. The sensation calmed her nerves enough that she was able to relax in the other girls’ care.
“Just like I thought,” Brittany stated, “your hair is super soft.” Rachel fought back a giggle as the blonde leaned down and sniffed the top of her hair, moaning slightly, “and it smells really good too!”
Rachel shook her head, receiving a gently smack to her head with the bottom of the brush from Brittany, followed by a reprimand for moving. The two stood in silence, Rachel’s eyes closed, as Brittany continued her desired task. That was until the blonde began to hum from behind her.
The song that tall blonde hummed sounded oddly familiar, and yet the young diva could not seem to place it.
“What are you humming?”
“My favorite song,” Brittany answered, “really Rachel you have to stop moving.”
“Oh,” she stopped herself from nodding as she opened her eyes, “and what would your favorite song be?”
Rachel swore she saw a red tint spread against Brittany’s cheeks, “My Headband, I already told you how much I liked it Rachel. Or did you forget?”
The brunette shook her head, gently easing herself from Brittany, she smiled at the taller girl, “I didn’t forget. Just thank you again for appreciating my silly little song.”
Brittany smiled in response, kissing the young girls’ cheek, before moving to brush her hair once more. Rachel raised her hand to stop her, “Wait, I have various hair accessories you may like if you wish to do something with my hair beside brush it.”
Blue eyes lit up, “Really?” Rachel nodded, biting her lower lip to contain her own excitement. “I’ll show you where they are.”
She grabbed the girls’ hand and led her back into her bedroom. The blonde beaming with excitement as they went through the various colored hair ornaments.
End.
