A Feeling to Live Without
Vidia was a lot of things. She was talented. She was beautiful, though she wouldn’t say she was vain. She was headstrong. She knew what she wanted. But one thing she was not. She was not without a heart. She knew she was mean spirited. It kept her safe from pain that came from dishonesty and betrayal.
As she hid in the shadows watching the pair in the distance, she was unprepared for heartbreak she never expected. The fast-flying fairy didn’t know how to make the pain go away. She had never felt like this before.
Her glow was a dark green as Vidia wanted nothing more than to emerge from the shadows that hid her and grab the blonde fairy. Hopefully she’d get the chance to tear at the pretty blonde hair that Tinker Bell always wore up. Or maybe she could embarrass her and tear at the leaf green dress on the delicate fairies body. She could even take her and feed her to a hawk. Any thing that would result in the tinker fairy being as far away from Terrence as Clumsy possible.
Vidia scowled as the twittering laughter from the pair echoed back towards her. It was as though the world was against her. Everything she had built up was coming undone and something needed to be done.
“I’m sick of this,” Vidia muttered to herself as she pushed off the tree branch she had been leaning against. The fast-flying fairy took to the air. It was soothing to feel the wind against her body, cooling the heated skin. Without giving it another thought, Vidia sped forward interrupting the moment Terrence and Tinker Bell were having as she flew between them.
“Vidia!” Tinker Bell yelled after her.
Vidia chuckled as she paused in mid-flight turning to the blonde pair, “I’m sorry, Dearies. I didn’t see you there.” Tinker Bell took on a dark red color as the fairy grew impossibly more livid. Vidia shrugged, “Do forgive me?” She crossed her arms over her chest as the sarcasm rolled from her tongue, “I’d fly backwards if I could.”
She met the blue eyes of the dust-talent sparrow man, something she couldn’t explain hidden within. Terrence shook his head as he carefully stood from the branch, “Don’t worry about it.” he replied softly before Tinker Bell went off on the other fairy. “It’s getting late anyway, we should be heading back to the Home Tree. Right, Tink?” The red hue surrounding the tinker fairy died down as she nodded, accepting the helping hand of her friend.
Vidia hovered with a scowl, “Afraid of the dark and all the shadows?”
Tinker Bell turned to face her, “I’m not afraid of anything.”
The sparrow man touched Tinker Bell’s shoulder and she quickly nodded with a disgusted glance tossed in the smirking Vidia’s direction.
Terrence sighed, glancing at the sprit-filled fairy, “You should head home as well Vidia.” He offered a small smile before he took off after Tinker Bell.
Vidia watched the two fairies with a sad smile until their glows disappeared, being swallowed by the shadows of the woods. As quickly as it came the smile was gone, replaced by a scowl as she took off to her Sour Plum home. She didn’t need them. She didn’t need him. Vidia was just fine by herself.
End.
