Clark blinked more than a little surprised by the question. The girl, Maria Deluca as she had introduced herself, stood with her arms crossed and foot taping. She leaned towards him.
"Well, are you an alien or not?"
The look in her eyes told him she was serious. He cleared his throat and tried to laugh it off, "What makes you think that?"
She shrugged and wiped her hands onto the green apron, "I've had my experiences with weird. I know when something isn't right."
Maria turned with a promise to question him later. First, she had customers to serve.

Fighting the urge to roll his eyes, Clark grabbed her bare hand. Without any further warning, he pressed her hand to his chest. Rogue closed her eyes tight and Clark screamed out in pain.
Green eyes shot open only to see the alien smirking, her hand still pressed to his chest.
The shock wore off quickly and she smacked the top of his head, "You can go stay wit' Remy tonight." Although mad Clark had made her worry, this new development couldn‘t have made her happier.

Clark woke up groaning in pain as he turned over in the bed. His lover, a beautiful creature despite the fact he was male, continued to pretend to sleep.
The Kryptonian reached out to touch the cold, marble like skin of his vampire. "Stop pretending."
Emmett chuckled, a sound that vibrated throughout the room. Before Clark could utter any complaint Emmett reached out and wrapped his arms around the man's waist. Although strong and near invincible, Clark was still no match for the bear-like Emmett, whose earth shattering kisses only seemed to make everything else in the world melt away.
