Author Notes: Drabble #3. I’ve taken to using Renesmee in actual text and only using Nessie when her name is spoken. I think things just flow better that way lol.
Another night watching the young girl sleep and another nightmare to go along with it. Renesmee whimpered, tossing and turning as the bed sheets wrapped around her young body. Bella frowned hurrying to her daughters’ side like any good mother would. As she touched her, flashes from the little girl entered her mind; misshapen bodies with no visible face or voice.
Taking her daughter into her arms, Bella whispered tales of unicorns and Pegasus and other creatures found in the fairytales Edward had taken to telling her. Renesmee’s whispers subsided and the girl fell silent, falling into a peaceful sleep.

They were coming, monsters that wanted nothing else but to extinguish her existence. They lurked everywhere intent on destroying her. She wouldn’t let them. Renesmee just needed to remind herself it was only a dream. She was only giving them power by fearing the shadows they created in her nightmares. Lurking like any villain in a fairytale, waiting for the princess to lower her guard before they slipped in and tricked her.
Renesmee wasn’t afraid of the Volturi. She had family and friends who would protect her. But in the end she couldn’t help call “Daddy” when she woke suddenly.

“You remind me of a mermaid when you swim like that,” Seth stated, lying back against the tree truck watching her.
Leah’s head bobbled up and out of the water, eyes intent on her younger brother with a brow raised “What did you say Seth?”
He shrugged and smiled before repeating his statement. Leah couldn’t stop herself from scoffing at the comment as she continued swimming about in the lake.
“Does it look like I have red hair, a purple shell bra and green fin?” She asked. Seth shook his head and Leah smirked, “Well than I’m not a mermaid.”
