"I have things to do, and the fairest woman I know waits for me after I have done them. Meaning no disrespect to your Grace." I bow deeply. "And one of the things was to thank you. Your help and the food you supplied to my wedding were beyond what a man could ask for."
"Ah, there you are. Are you certain that you did not extend your absence?" I know this to be untrue. He has been working very hard, which I've seen--mostly from a distance--as I've checked on Eohir. He needs to be ridden soon, not just walked about.
"You look very happy, my brother. I do not know anyone who deserves it more." I smile instead of grinning now. "How does your lady fare? I'm surprised I cannot see her glow if she is even half so content as you."
"I am very happy. And wish that you should be so, too. Sugar is very well-- we have made our place a home. I regret still that I had no house for her, but she has forgiven me."
I beam. "And how are you, Faramir? When last I saw you I think you were speaking with Sophie. She had a blue dress on, I recall."
"The suites at the hotel are very fine, if not what you had hoped for. It is a quirk of this place." I am glad she understands. Considering the way they were on their wedding day, I'd have to say that she didn't care.
"I am doing very well. My work is enjoyable and I continue to teach Shasta. Soon we will be making arrows for his bow. Too much time has passed already." I know what he is asking but he must work for it. "I have met any number of people, most new. One of them looks very like Mithrandir only he's from the modern world."
I don't mention Sirius because he isn't the same or the man in the cave. It ended well enough.
"Did you still wish for him to learn sword? Now that the wedding is past, I have a little bit more time..."
I feel the surprise showing on my face. "A man who looks like Gandalf? That is strange. Although not unheard of in the village, there are odd twins here."
It's late when Sugar arrives home, tired and headachey from dealing with invoices all night at the Hidden Franks while being pestered to tell everyone about her lovely week with her handsome husband. With a smile on her face she enters their very own home, turning on the kettle is the first thing she does.
"Hello, my fairest." I am just out of the water shower, having washed away the smell of horse. I come out to my wife with only a pause to put on trousers, and take her into my arms.
"I was pestered all night by incrediably drunk and giddy patrons to tell them of my lovely, handsome husband who I desire every second of the day." Sugar smiles up at Boromir, kissing his wet beard with much glee, so happy to be home and be with him.
"I hope you told them nothing indecorous..." I kiss her lips sweetly. "It is not for them, after all." Her hair is smooth and soft between my fingers. "It is all for you, Sugar."
