Polgara stepped in the gym in search of Stildyne,a half-formed plan of dinner and guest lists in her head. But a cursory look around did not reveal him, so she approached the man with kilt and the face like a thundercloud, unmoved by his anger. "Excuse me . . ."
"Oh." Polgara frowned slightly. That was odd . . . Brachi had been looking forward to returning to the gym. "I was under the impression that he was a trainer here, I'm sorry. Do you know where I can find him?"
Polgara took a step back, her hand pressed to her chest. "He left? You're sure?" Why would he leave without telling her? She knew he wanted to, but . . . why?
Polgara blushed but drew herself up straight. "There's no need to shout," she said sternly, then her eyes narrowed as she realised something. His mind wasn't angry. In fact, his mind seemed to be completely asleep.
