It is a fine enough day, although I go out in all kinds of weather. Today I see someone that I've not seen in some time. Am I mistaken, or does the angel seem... I don't know. I nod in greeting.

"Hello, Castiel."

Castiel turned when he heard the voice, smiling because he recognized it. "Faramir? Hello. So, I am still here then."

The last part he said more to himself. He felt really off for some reason, though he wasn't sure why.

I don't think that Castiel was speaking to me at the end, and it seems a very odd thing to say.

"Yes, you are still here." I heard, even if I perhaps wasn't supposed to. "Unless we are both imagining it."

I don't think so.

"Did something happen?" I know Castiel as a person, not so much as an angel.

"I'm not sure." A pause. "Well, I was dreaming. Angels don't tend to dream. We don't sleep, either. Ever."

I don't know much about angels at all. I've read a bit, but it's very confusing. I also know that much of what I've read isn't true--and that's from what little I know from Castiel.

"I didn't know it was possible to dream without sleeping." I have to consider. "Is it like having a vision?"

I do know what that's like, though for me it is True Dreaming.

"I do feel like I have been living in a daze lately." He said with a slight shrug of one shoulder.

"I believe I was just asleep a moment ago. The only times I've ever slept is when I was human or the few times my powers were fading. Pretty sure neither of those is the reason now."

Let's hope not, anyway.

"I suppose it could be the village's doing." We've both been here long enough to know how strange it is.

"Do you mean you were just asleep here in the street?" Or was he somewhere else? Like those who just arrive from wherever they were before, only Castiel has been in the village.

"I woke up here, but... actually, no. It didn't feel like here. I hope I'm not being pulled back." He said, worriedly. Castiel had too much going on here to want to go home.

"If that turns out to be the case, I'll fight it. Somehow."

I don't know that anyone's ever fought leaving before. Some know before they depart, but Castiel isn't certain.

"Perhaps you were elsewhere in your sleep." That sounds odd even as I say it. "And returned here when you woke?"

He did say that there were times when he slept, so it's possible that he was in one of those situations at home.

"Is there some way to test if your powers are failing?"

"Possibly, but why would the village allow me to do that?"

He tilted his head, then with a blink of an eye was standing on the opposite side of Faramir. "I feel fine. Let me check."

Castiel glanced over at a streetlamp, which turned on (as it was already daylight), became very bright, and then blew.

"Yes, everything seems alright." A few seconds later he had gone, grabbed a new bulb, and fixed it, then was back next to Faramir as if he had never left at all. He could have just snapped his fingers to replace it, but liked to do it the 'old fashioned' way.

"There may be a few people who can double-check for me, just to be sure." Lucifer, possibly Balthazar. He certainly wouldn't want his powers to be failing him while Dean was here with the mark of Cain. The Winchester was likely unstable.

Castiel is there and gone and there and... Something. He's back and I blink a few times. I did know he wasn't human.

"That's good. But whatever just happened?" I ask. "Does that mean things seem as they should be for now?"

"I flew. Sorry if I startled you. Had to test things out, without harming anyone. Us angels are warriors, many of my powers are meant to kill."

Castiel nodded. "I'll get a second opinion soon, but I think things are just fine. At least he hoped.

"That's good, that things are fine." I didn't think he worked at a place like the Ribbon, no.

"Did you need anything?" He was fairly... something a few minutes ago. "I'm not sure if I can help, but I'll try."

"I should check on Bernie first, but perhaps some meditation later would help. I wouldn't mind if you could check in on me, to make sure I'm not asleep again?"

"I can do that. At the Ribbon, yes?" That would make the most sense.

"When?"

And...

"What should I do if you are asleep?"

Castiel nodded. "At the Ribbon. In an hour or so would be fine, unless you are busy and have plans. I suppose, you can just shake me by my shoulders a little? There, I can also test to see if my power to heal others is working as well."
