Having read through a lot of the literature available at the magic shop, Christopher hasn't managed to learn much about the village and the demons that must have created or at least banned him to this realm. Frankly - he needs a break from his research which seems to be going nowhere. It's frustrating him

He studies the newcomer. Another person he's having trouble to read. There seem to be many of those in the village. He's getting used to it, but that doesn't mean he's not curious about these people.

"I do manage the building, so I suppose I could say I'm working." But as he took a sip of alcohol, it was probably evident calling what he was doing working was not accurate.

Christopher takes a sip of his wine before speaking up again.
"Actually I had assumed the hotel was run by the village itself. But I suppose guests appearing for the hotel is similar to stock appearing in the back of the shop I manage."

And technically he was supposed to look after the complaints, but half of the complaints were 'I don't want to be here' and he couldn't exactly fix that.
