Dean's re-arrival, even if he didn't remember being there stirred up a lot of emotions. Especially since he and Mary had talked often and hoped to have another child. They both knew the risks and trusted that if they were lucky to have one, the child would be okay and taken care of. That was how he'd thought but today was different. Today, John woke up with a gnawing in the pit of his stomach and questions flying through his head. What made him think that this time around it would be different? He'd screwed up with Dean, Sam and Adam. True, he hadn't had Mary with him but would she be enough to stop the curse that he seemed to have with his progeny?
John sat staring into the coffee mug as the questions continued to swirl. If he was more clear headed, he'd realize that there was something other than his thoughts driving his fear, but he wasn't.
