Peter had been working hard on a solution for Allison's Skynet problem and he was pretty confident he had the solution to a virus ready ( Read more... )

Blind Mag happened to be passing by when Peter walked out of the building. She considered his appearance, as if he was following something, but she hadn't seen anyone or anything it could have been. She glanced around to be sure.

She looked back to him. "Are you all right?"

Peter's eyes lingered along the street, expression still pensive for a moment after she asked the question before he responded.

"Yeah..." His eyes moved to look at the woman on the street and he nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine." Though his voice was thoughtful as he said it.

"Then the person or item you are looking for didn't come this way," Mag offered helpfully.

"No... or at least not in the village." He sounded thoughtful as he replied, thinking about the possibilities this could mean.

Meg quirked her eyebrows slightly. "I'm afraid I don't understand..."

"I heard someone from back home. My father, actually. Which means I'm either going crazy or the village is letting some of reality seep through." Peter's mind was still trying to make sense of it completely.

"Is such 'seepage' possible in your home reality?" Mag asked.

"I wouldn't put it passed any reality, actually." He offered a small smile to her. "But my particular world, most definitely."

"I wouldn't know if it were possible in my home, but I'm not omniscient by any means," Mag admitted. "One does hear stories of ghosts and the like..."

"Most people aren't aware of all aspects of their world. I mean, I've been to two dimensions in my own and probably still haven't scratched the surface." He smiled a little. "Ghosts, for example, are in some theories people bleeding over from other dimensions, rather than the dead."

"You sound like an expert in these matters?" Mag asked with a gently curious tone. She was ready to be rebuffed, if he wasn't in the mood to discuss it, and also curious to learn, if he was.

"Maybe not an expert, but over the last couple of years back home I've experienced enough to make me knowledgeable." Peter couldn't shake off the feeling like maybe the village was giving him some sort of warning.

"Claiming to be an expert would be disingenuous." He smiled a little.

Mag smiled. "Anyone who saw more than one ghost would call themselves expert in it, back home... whether true or not."

His eye held a chuckle that didn't surface on his tongue. "Some would call themselves an expert without ever seeing any, I'm sure."

He held out his hand. "I'm Peter."

"I'm called Blind Mag, but just 'Mag' by my friends," she returned as she placed her hand in his.

His eyebrows raised just slightly. "An interesting nick name." She seemed to be able to see well enough, he observed, as he shook his hand.
