Little Ed had chosen to go as a cowboy, the three year old was running around shooting his fake guns at the people getting food at the table, demanding they give him their candy corn.

Faith was tending to little Mary and adjusting her noodles. Adorable. Now. She looked around the room, where had Ed gotten to?

John wasn't one to go to Halloween parties, kids or not, but when he'd walked by the entrance to the party and saw Faith with Ed and little Mary, he couldn't resist.

He slid up behind Ed at the food table and said with amusement, "candy corn, huh?"

The little boy look up, toy gun held up as he swallowed some of his latest candy corn loot. He nodded emphatically, "It's good!"

"Then I guess I should get you some of that candy, so that I don't get on the wrong end of your gun. Or does Grandpa get a break?" John asked with amusement.

Ed considered, seeming to weigh the pros and cons of this situation. More candy corn was good. But he also did like Grandpa John.

"We can steal it toge-der?"

John nodded sagely, "I like that idea. I can be intimidating behind you." He gave Ed his intimidation look then ruined it by winking at him.

"Right. No winking." John shook his head. "Only winks are for family."

"Yah!" Ed agreed, running up to the next person going for the dessert table. "Bang bang!" he aimed his pistol.

John stood behind Ed, giving his presence. His expression was full of fondness until Ed looked at him, then immediately came the scowl that demons usually saw on his face.

Candy corn won, given by the woman who was luckily a good sport, He grinned holding up their prize. John could have some too because they were working together.

John took one of the candy corn and popped it into his mouth. "Nice haul." He said with approval. "You're good at this."

He grinned, candy sticking in his teeth.

"Leaned from the best." Faith spoke up, moving in beside John, little Mary holding on to a strand of fake spaghetti from her costume. "Dean, that is." she smirked, "I'm not nearly as obsessed with sweets."

John reached out a finger to stroke it down Mary's cheek. Of course Dean's child would be dressed as food. He thought it was adorable and perfect. "That I'm afraid got passed down from me." Though Dean took it to a whole other level.

The baby giggled, drooling a bit too as her hand went from the spaghetti to the new hand. Yay hands! Her little fingers latched on.

"At least I'll know who to blame then." Faith was teasing, clearly.

"Guilty as charged." John admitted before he leaned down and pretended to nibble on Mary's fingers that gripped his own finger.

"Though I'd blame it all on Dean because he took what I gave him and made it his own." John was kidding, too.
