Liz was already in the library to look up things to help with an assignment. It might only be the second full week of school, but she had some homework and her advance placement courses required her to be on the ball. She also felt at home with the books. None of them were there to judge her. They were there to give her advice and to teach her. Liz liked that.
She walked through the stacks quietly, reading the numbers on the spines of the book as she searched for the right one. Coming to a stop, Liz spotted the book on the top shelf. There didn't seem to be a stool around, but it didn't seem that far. She went up onto the tip of her toes, fingers stretched out, as she tried to coax the book off the shelf.
She almost got it. Almost. Almost.
....And now a couple of the books were tumbling down toward her face.
