Dojo (open)

Wesker's not quite practicing, but he's not quite relaxing either. It was somewhere in between since it helped him focus but it was also good to keep your body in shape. Muscle memory was important, too. He was getting bored again and even though he had protection with some influential people, he wanted to do what he enjoyed doing. Research. ( Read more... )

Khan walked into the dojo, eye quickly appraising everything within, first Wesker then other people, finally items and exits.

His gaze returned to Wesker as the man practiced.

He was aware of the eyes. Wesker's always aware when people are watching, but equally so when that person is new. The man watching is interesting, certainly. He carries himself in a dominating way.

He finishes his routine without revealing too much about his power, though calculating enough to make sure he communicated he was skillful. Once finished, Wesker goes to his water and drinks from it even though he doesn't really need it.

"An interesting collage of styles," Khan remarked, walking towards Wesker. "Reasonably well executed."

His comment actually reassured Wesker he got the desired result.

"Thank you." His voice was calm and collected and his eyes hidden by dark shades.

"It's important to continue training while in the village."

As if he had more to learn.

"I am sure your instructors would believe so," Khan said with a small smile. "By the completeness with which you blended the stances and strikes, I'd say you have let your practice slide since you combined all of them."

Khan, when he moved, did so with precision and surety. When he wasn't moving deliberately he was practically a statue. Perfectly still and (to many) highly unnerving. Peoples' reaction to him was something Khan watched carefully for, to gauge the people he dealt with.

Wesker's reaction was to have no reaction, which no doubt said something as well. The man could see something in Khan that he saw in himself. Wesker could sense danger and a man who knew himself completely. Someone formidable and someone that piqued his interest.

"Perhaps I should go back to one at a time, then." It wouldn't be happening, but he was willing to let it on that he was. A perceived weakness to someone like Khan would be an advantage.

Interesting. The man seemed as balanced as Khan himself. "My name is Khan," he introduced himself. "I manage the shooting range."

Wesker regards to man quietly. A strong sounding name, that definitely was.

"The shooting range is a good thing to manage. More rewarding, I imagine, than other places here."

"More entertaining than a bookshop, perhaps." He noted the other hadn't returned the greeting. Insult or accident? Judging by the man's demonstrated and inferred capabilities, far less likely to have been an accidental oversight.

Khan took two paces to his right as if in thought. "But far less than I have done in the past. It barely takes any of my time here in the village."

Not an insult and more of the fact he rarely introduced himself to strangers. He often lied, but he gave the man the courtesy of not doing that in particular.

His nod was slight, but to the point. "It's hard for some of us to do what we did back home here."

A hint given, not tossed out accidentally.
