T-Rex or Raptors (Also Open)annatar_sMay 25 2014, 19:49:27 UTC
The little lizards running about had been interesting. Then there were larger ones, but Annatar could tell that they were not meat-eaters. Now, these new ones were different. He'd seen a pack of decent-sized creatures that looked about as friendly as a small herd of wargs. Pleasant.
Then there was that massive beast. He warred with himself--to stay in and leave it all alone or to go out and see if anyone needed assistance. That seemed probable since it had all been peaceful so far.
He tied up his hair so it would not be in the way and donned his armour. His village persona of 'helpful' had won.

There was a teenage girl running along the street in a panicked frenzy. A raptor was close behind her, but what she didn't see were the other two that were using the one-story buildings' roofs as a means to track her as well.

Annatar saw the girl and the creature. He also saw that it didn't matter if she outran it since there were two more--that he could see--waiting.
Not bothering to call to her, lest it make her stumble, Annatar began running himself, sword drawn, intent on the one and waiting until the others made their move.

The raptor, if it saw Annatar, did not seem to think him a threat. Instead, it gained on the girl without changing course. When it thought it was close enough, it lunged toward her with open mouth.

"NO!" Annatar shouted--in Quenya--as the lizard made its move. He made his own in tandem with the shout; leaping forward and bringing he sword down on the creature's spine near the neck. It wasn't a solid blow, but it should keep the woman safe from immediate harm.

The dinosaur's skin was hard, but not impenetrable. The sword sliced through a large portion of its neck which caused it to cry out in pain and stumble hard to the side of the building.
Re: T-Rex or Raptors (Also Open)annatar_sMay 27 2014, 18:15:25 UTC
The stumble gave Annatar time to properly orient his blade to shove it point-first into the creature's throat. He did not wish to waste any time with two more waiting, possibly.

It let out a painful sound and then flopped, dead. However, Annatar was right. While the girl had gotten away safely, the two raptors jumped down from the roofs and turned to face him.

"Get behind me, Lady," he said, turning toward the two newcomers. These beasts were fast but he was faster. He did not wait for an attack but made one himself, lunging to one side of a creature, keeping it between himself and the other one. Gut this one, then the other.
All while protecting a human--but he could do that.

Both let out a sort of screeching sound and jumped back a little one their feet. Then the one of the right lashed out with it's mouth, trying to bite at Annatar.

Annatar could have laughed, or thanked the beast for being so thoughtful as to provide such a convenient target as its neck. He didn't imagine that these things had encountered Elves before. They were fast, but he was faster, and able to jump and swing his sword at the same time.
Then there was that massive beast. He warred with himself--to stay in and leave it all alone or to go out and see if anyone needed assistance. That seemed probable since it had all been peaceful so far.

It was all Draco's fault.
