Bigger is Better? (Open)

Friday brought about several larger dinosaurs that made larger entrances to the village. The forest seemed to have several dino-made partings from the forest in which the trees were either trampled over or lean to the side as if they were actively digging their roots into the ground to hold on ( Read more... )

The Dragon watches this growing size of the dinosaurs with ... growing unease. Only yesterday these things were small - perhaps the size of a human, if that. Today they've grown to nearly a quarter of her size.

Does this mean tomorrow they will be too big to fit in the village?

She worries and watches from a distance just short of scaring them away from the water.

One of the triceratops was smaller than the others - a child - and it's curiosity at the new surroundings was more than its parents. It liked to wander off as much as its mother would allow to check out the strange flowers.

It came upon a frog and stopped to sniff and stare.

Glaurnaneth peers at the little one, trying to see if she can spot it growing before her eyes or if it is just her imagination.

She lifts her head slightly and sniffs in its direction.

The movement catches the young dinosaur's attention and it looks up to see a very large unfamiliar creature. It's size causes the triceratops to shift its weight from one side to the other as if deciding if it strayed too far from mom and dad.

It has, but rather than attacking or eating the little one, the Dragon just exhales her breath in a loud *snuff* at it. She will not cause a mother to mourn her child. Not even a dinosaur mother.

The young dinosaur startled at the sound from the large unfamiliar creature and scurried back to the herd, though it stole a still interested glance towards the dragon from behind it's mother's large legs.

Glaurnaneth chuckled. Her boys had been similarly curious at such a young age. As long as its mother did not see the Dragon as a threat (and she was making sure to make no threatening movements), she was happy to play with the little one.

She closed her eyes most of the way, pretending not to be able to see it in a game of peek-a-boo.

The young triceratops seemed to grow interest at the creature's new move. It hesitated as if deciding to turn around and not engage, but curiosity won out and the young dino took a couple of steps away from its mother again. This time it walked to were there were large blades of grass and peeked through the blades to stare at the big animal.

She waits until it has found a 'good' hiding spot before opening her eyes and pretending not to see it.

It seemed to the young one that its hiding place was good. The fact that the other unfamiliar animal did not see it caused the triceratops to exhale a sound of pleasure. It stuck its head through the grass to reveal itself to the other being.

Suddenly, Glaurnaneth focused her gaze on the little one. She didn't move a muscle otherwise. She likes this creature...

When the triceratops realized it had been caught, it huffed a seemingly playful sound and stomps a bit as if pleased. It looked back to it's mother as if to declare such a triumph.

Such was fine with the Dragon. If she could smile, she would. As it is, she closes her eyes most of the way.
