John was under no delusions that this conversation was going to be entirely pleasant. It was a long-time coming and he hoped he and Leoben could come to some sort of an agreement. John wasn't sure what would happen if they couldn't. They both had different investments in the village and Alissa posed a danger to some of them. Of course, she posed the most with him.
He took a seat in one of the booths in the bakery and had fresh coffee sitting in front of him. He decided to forgo any treats today so that he could keep his mind focused. Even though she was dead, John could still hear his mother when he looked at something filled with sugar. It wasn't a good strategic choice for nourishment.
