Rarely did the creature sleep. He wandered at night when the village was quiet.

When he saw some light leaking from under the door to the ballroom, he pulled the door open as quietly as he could, peering in.

Ah, he knew that one, so he did not duck away.

Draco had routines he could practice, but he felt like messing around and letting the music take him where it would instead. It was a good way to inspire one's self, and figure out what needed to be worked on in general.

He was not at a professional level, but there was plenty of heart and attention to detail. After a stumble, Draco paused for a break, and grabbed up his sweat rag and water bottle. He was feeling better, calmer.

There was beauty, the creature was learning, everywhere, when one didn't have to be so tuned to hate.

There was a moment when the creature decided whether to stay or go, before he finally stepped in to the room.

Failing to notice such a large person entering a room, even one as big as the ballroom, was a difficult thing to do.

Draco used the rag to wipe the sweat from his face and neck. "So we meet again! How are the adjustments to your room working out for you?"

"It is n-nice," the creature said. It felt comfortable and safe. In short, the creature loved it.

"Wh-why are you h-here?" Dancing so late at night?

Draco shrugged a shoulder. "I was having trouble sleeping. Seemed pointless to keep trying. What are you up to?"

Almost looking like a child caught doing what he shouldn't be, the creature shrugged. "E-exploring."

"Oh yeah?" he asked, amused by the expression. "Find anything interesting?"

"Yeah?" That was interesting. "What sort of dancing? Who's teaching you?"

"A-all kinds," replied the creature with a hint of defensiveness. "Ri-River is t-t-t-teaching me."

"At the dance studio?" He and River had crossed paths once or twice. Odd girl, but interesting.

"How do you like it so far?"

The creature shrugged again; he loved it at times and hated it at others. "I am l-l-learning."

"Dancing is a good thing to learn," he said with approval. "Especially for big blokes like you. You'll get a better handle on how to move through space and such.

Really, the creature was better than most at disappearing into the shadows. "I-is that wh-why you d-d-d-ance?"

"Not entirely," he answered, and shrugged. "I dance for many reasons."
