Baby Bump [ota]

Mar 22, 2014 15:33

She was four months pregnant now, actually showing a bit of a bump through her tank top as she slid around the bar from customer to customer. But at this point it kind of just looked like Faith had just been going a bit hard on the Twinkies rather than being pregnant. Or at least that's what she thought to herself silently as she'd caught sight of ( Read more... )

Anna was back. Just as Lucifer had suspected, she hadn't been gone long, and Castiel found that he was working overtime in keeping an eye on her as well as everyone else. Faith was definitely included in that.

"Actually, I could go for some coffee if you have any." Just because food didn't taste as good as it did when he was human didn't mean he wanted to completely give it up. He sat down at the bar counter, then added. "How are you doing?"

Faith had more or less been in her own little world, thinking about the life growing inside her and working the bar, so wasn't aware of all the goings on with regards to Anna.

"Coffee?" she rose an eyebrow, "Not the type of order I'm used to, but sure, I can get you a coffee." Faith signaled to one of the other bartenders to get a cup from the back, where the coffee pot was. "And I'm doing pretty good." she gestured to her stomach, "Little guy's starting to show."

"Coffee is my favorite drink, I think."

He wasn't sure if anyone knew yet, save for the angels here. And probably Meg. Some of the Deities had probably sensed the change.

"The baby's skeleton is now beginning to harden and it's approximately five inches long." He held up his fingers and used them as measurement as he said 'five inches'. "I find child-birthing fascinating." Castiel finally added, looking just slightly embarrassed. Angels weren't 'born' after all.

Faith looked at her stomach and then to him, "Do you see that? Or are you just basing that off what you know about 'child-birthing'?"

"It is just based off of what I know. I could look, but that would be an invasion of your privacy." See, he's learning. Baby steps.

[[Pun intended haha.]]

"Good cause I'm not sure I want you X-ray visioning my uterus. That'd be creepy as shit." she relaxed a bit, the other bartender coming from the back with a cup of coffee, packets of sugar and cups a cream on the side.

Castiel thanks the other bartender, then moves to take a sip of it. He probably won't use the sugar or cream. Cas liked his coffee black.

"I thought you and Dean might not appreciate it." He agreed with her, smiling slightly. Dean had yelled at him for smelling a dead body once, so... "But if you are ever curious, feel free to let me know. Angels can sense illness and the like much more quickly than any human technology can spot it."

"Where were you after I had Ed? I was convinced every single little cough and sniffle was the plague." she laughed a bit to herself, "Moms can be a little paranoid."

"If I had been here, I would have been happy to help." Then again, he didn't know if she'd known Dean then (probably not) so who knows if they ever would have run into each other. Though, Cas thought he knew a decent amount of people here, and not all of them were through the Winchesters either.

"Though you could have likely ruled out the plague. Then again, with a village like this perhaps not."

"Yeah, with this place who knows. But I'm hoping I'll be slightly less paranoid this go around. If not, well, I'll definitely be seeking you out." Faith laughed.

"Okay." Cas smiled and drank more of his coffee. "And I'll be sure to let you know if I hear of any plagues going around."

"You know, I think Dean is very happy about this, but I think Mary might be even more excited. The last time I talked with them, they were anyway. It's been a while." Not that long, but long for him.

She smiled, ducking her head as she thought about Dean. "Yeah, Dean's been... he's going to be a great father. He's already been great to Ed. And-" Faith laughed, "I can only imagine how much Mary's going to spoil the baby once it's born."

"He's very good with kids." He agreed, chuckling softly. Even Cas could tell that. Then again, Cas was actually really good with kids too, he just didn't realize it.

"Yeah, but that's because Dean's still a kid most of the time." Faith grinned.

He took a sip of his coffee, then tilted his head just slightly. Cas didn't really think so, but Dean did like to joke a lot.

"Well, I guess he can be a little immature sometimes."

"One of the many things I love about him." Yeah, it was getting easy to admit such feelings out in the open these days.
