Arrival, OTA

He'd made too many errors, he could tell that. The Vulcan was fighting as savagely as Khan was, and proving his statement about 'not being able to break a rule' to have been in error. The shapely Lieutenant beamed down and shouted something about Khan being Kirk's only hope... then nothingness.

The trial... the trial afterwards was a mockery. Nothing about the Admiral was said, not aloud. But from the old phrase, it was the elephant in the room of which nobody spoke. Khan said nothing as well. He had nothing to say to them. He knew he'd won exactly what he'd sought. His crew - his family - were safe.

He lay down in the chamber readily and willingly enough. Perhaps in some future time he and his would be all awake at once.

Behind one of the buildings in the village, a cryo-stasis chamber appeared. The process to safely thaw and awaken its occupant began automatically, then opened.

Khan, when he awoke, sat up and looked around. He was nowhere he could figure. There were no vehicles flying overhead, and the buildings looked more like home, before ...

"Before we fought. Before we lost," he murmured aloud. He stood up and took a step away, pausing when a sound reached his ears. A glance behind him revealed that the stasis chamber was beamed out. "... Or not."

Boldly he stepped out from behind the building to look for any sign of those who'd brought him back to the waking world... and looking for his crew.
