Castiel didn't remember the Village, if this was still the 'version' of him that went at all. Then again, he didn't remember a lot of things, and he was well aware of as to why now. Naomi. He'd lived through this part now, and it was worse than being told about it (not that he remembered being in Haurvatat and being warned about it). But, he DID know that he'd made yet another huge mistake by not believing her, and trusting Metatron.
Metatron. Why he had to punish all of the Angels, most of whom were completely unaware of a lot that had happened when God left, was still hard for Cas to comprehend. It had been painful to hear their cries because 'Angel Radio' had never gone quiet for him when he lost his Grace and became human... however, once he'd gone into hiding, the sigils he'd had tattooed onto himself had cut it off. He was homeless and practically starving for a few weeks at least, and now he was still homeless, but he'd gotten a job.
After his run-in with April, the bitch of a rogue reaper whom he'd lost his virginity to (he was pretty sure he'd died, but was told by Dean that the elder Winchester had made her bring him back to life- it didn't quite make sense) and then staying with the Winchesters for a night- and then being kicked out by them (thanks, Dean), Castiel was on the move, losing all ties to the first nickname he'd used- 'Clarence'. He was 'Steve' now, and a Sales Associate at a local Gas-N-Sip in Rexford, Idaho. And he had had a very bad day yesterday.
First, he thought he had a date, which turned out to be babysitting. Then, he found out that a 'Hands-of-Mercy' Angel (rough translation), Ephraim, was going around killing humans when they felt pain, and was almost murdered by him. A lot of what the Angel said made him worried, but he's aware that he's felt more worried and scared as a human than he ever has before. So, of course once he's dropped off at work by Dean in the morning, he gets thrown off guard when his surroundings suddenly don't look familiar.
"I don't understand, I couldn't have been that easy to find." He says angrily to himself, or whatever Angel has caught him, as he looks around. He's ready to fight if he has to, Dean had given him weapons to protect himself- but he was no Angel anymore, nor a Hunter.
