Calculating (ota)

Laura was gone. Apparently the village had seen it fit to send her home and Ellen can't help but to think that the village is cruel. Laura's life back home was hard and here she had a lot of good things. It makes her think of her other children here and how they, too, would return to hardship. Haurvatat has much more to offer, she thinks.

She's sitting in the frozen yogurt place...the cafe was not the place to do this... and she has papers in front of her on the table as she slowly eats away at some blueberry yogurt. It's delicious, but her focus is on the papers. Occasionally she writes in a notebook. Ellen hasn't looked at these calculations in a long time, but now she feels like maybe she should. Most of it is mathematics, some of it is in an ancient language, but there's some English too. The word 'Ressurection' is scribled a few times in her notebook on the page.

ellen tigh, zoe hart
