Even in Luz's era, only drunks drank before noon, and as much as this place sometimes made a drink very appealing, he wasn't so desperate to get that shitfaced in a place where monsters could appear from the sky.
It meant that when lunch time came, he was craving some real food and a bear along with the potential for some company. The Firecracker was as good as any place and reminded him of the bars at home. A place where a man could feel at home and not worry about holding back-plus the broad that usually served there wasn't too bad looking.
He finished up his work at the bakery before heading over there, making a b-line for the jukebox in the corner of the room, fishing out some change. There was nothing like listening to music on one of these things, especially given how different everything else was. Of course by the time he gets there it's playing something that sounds like a piano being tuned by a pitchfork. This thing had to have something on it besides country-was it too much to ask for some Sinatra, Miller or hell even some Armstrong.
He just finds a song by Benny Goodman when his vision starts to blur and his head feeling all loopy. It takes only a moment later for him to realize he wasn't where he was standing a moment ago.
What the fuck just happened?
