Kyla's mind reeled as she left the clinic and made her way through the village with the bakery as her goal. While she missed her dad and was glad on some level he was here - and that he knew her was a bonus - it brought a lot of issues into the mix. How was she going to tell her father he was a grandpa? How was she going to explain Leoben? And what about Alissa? The moment the terminator found out, her programming would kick in.
She hadn't wanted to discuss anything over an unsecured line, so she didn't even reply back to Leoben. Not that she took her time getting to the bakery for him to wait long either, though.
Kyla left the dogs of her father's door at the clinic. Service dogs, she told them, and technically it was true. She pushed through the bakery doors and scanned the room for Leoben like a woman on a mission, which she was.
