Takes place immediately after this

Paris ran back to his hotel room, face flushed with tears, desperation tight in his chest. He paced around the room for a moment attempting to use the mediation techniques that Dr. Hopper had taught him, but they were not working, the anxiety was rising. He could feel his breath coming in short.

The groundskeeper words about finding no redemption haunted him )

Aaron was coming back from one of his frequently flights around the area when he felt it. One of the Nephilim's special gifts was the ability to sense despair and a desire for redemption in others, and Aaron was struck by exactly that - so intensely that it was all he could do to drop to the hotel roof for a moment ( ... )

Paris felt the warmth of the arms around him and the feel of something...indescribable filling him up. His breathing became a little steadier. He looked up at he beautiful being holding him and tried to speak but his mouth felt dry and no words could come out. He touched the cheek of the stranger, hoping to convey what he felt...desperation.

Aaron could sense the feeling clearly enough. He saw the vial in the young man's hand. "This is what you took? Can you tell me what it is?"

His power had countered at least some of the poison's effects, but Aaron couldn't be sure if the guy was out of danger.

Paris felt sick but not to the point he had felt just moments before for it was fading--almost as if someone had given him one of Oenone's vials.

The beautiful stranger had a question, Paris tried his best to answer it. "Poison...of the most lethal kind...hemlock."

Aaron nodded, figured it had been something lethal. "You're going to be ok - I have some power to heal. I want to get you to the clinic, though, just to be safe. Can you stand?" He offered the guy a hand.

"Clinic?" Paris voice raised in anxiety. He had awoken in the clinic, connected to tubes and surrounded by strange machines. He didn't like the idea of it.

But he figured the angelic man had reason to worry and if his life was to be spared, if this lovely man was brought here to rescue him who was Paris to deny the will of the gods. "No needles..."

"Hopefully they won't need to do anything like that." Aaron said. "We shouldn't delay, though." The Nephilim took the man into his arms, lifting him easily.

"Hang onto the vial - they'll want that." He carried the guy carefully through the doorway into the hallway, heading for the stairs.

"My name's Aaron - what's yours?"

"Paris...of Troy..." His voice sounded raspy as he spoke. He wrapped his arms around Aaron's neck, snuggling against the angel, the vial held tightly in his hand.

"I've heard of you." Aaron said, going up to the roof. "Don't worry, I've got you." He took to the air, large grey wings outstretched.

"I'm sure you had your reasons for drinking that. Whatever they were, though, there's always another answer - a way forward through what's troubling you."

Paris had given in to his despair, it was true. "It seemed the only way out..." Was there another way? Paris failed to see it. "I know of no other way to deal with my grief."

"Sometimes it feels like that." Aaron agreed, circling and gliding over the rooftops towards the clinic.

"Sometimes you need to share your troubles with someone else - an outside view on things can help you find a way to face it."

Paris' lungs still burned despite the angel's healing. He fought for breath though not as desperate as he had moments ago.

"I don't wish to burden anyone..." It was true Paris had his psychiatrist, but the prince even felt guilty talking to Dr. Hopper. "I do have a psychiatrist..Dr. Hopper...just started going to him."

"I just want out..." He said softly and closed his eyes.

"Talking with the psychiatrist will help." Aaron assured him. "You have to be patient with yourself - grief is a process that takes time."

He brought them in for a landing in front of the clinic, the doors open as he walked inside.

Paris nuzzled against Aaron, not really making eye contact with anyone. He tried to take a deep breath as he felt winded, but the best he could do sent him into a small coughing fit that left him wheezing.

The nurse at the station took the information and upon hearing that Paris had ingested Hemlock and called for a Code Blue. Immediately a swarm of medical personnel surrounded Paris and Aaron.

The bottle of poison was taken from Paris' hand and he was given a hand held respirator until they could connect him to full one. Paris wished he could speak to tell the angel thanks, but before he was given a chance, the prince was escorted on a gurney past the emergency doors.

The nurse at the station kept Aaron at the desk only long enough to take down some information. "Is there anyone we should call for him? Friends? Family?"

"He mentioned a Dr. Hopper as his therapist, but I think he's only just started as a patient." Aaron said.

"You can put me as a contact - Aaron Corbet."

The nurse took down the information, "Dr. Hopper will be notified of his patients attempt on his life." She shook her head, she would never understand why it came to that with some folks. "Whatever you did to keep him breathing possibly saved his life. Hemlock is very lethal." She handed Aaron a pamphlet listing hospital visiting hours and such. "Looks like Paris could use a friend. Someone will call you later to let you know if Paris made it through the night. Though he was still breathing on his own though struggling, never seen anything like it before--I think Paris will be just fine." She tried to smile reassuringly at Aaron.

and fade with Aaron's response?
