Gun practice- dual pup post [ota]

Jack was still a crack shot, but that was only because he made it a point to practice. Which was what found him at the shooting range this afternoon. Raising his pistol, he waited until the paper target slid all the way back to the range. Then he fired off the Webley .38 mark IV, all six bullets hitting their target ( Read more... )

Such an infernal racket! While Don Quixote did believe in the importance of weapons in the fight against those things less than chivalrous, he was more prone to a sword and sheild, not something that made such a great, sharp noise. And all this yarn! He knew not what to make of it

Letting Rocinante graze in the longer grass, Don Quixote came closer, proclaiming, "I say! I say I say!"

Garrus could barely hear the man's shouting over the blasts of his rifle. Eventually he did look back, moving to get up from his prone stance, "There a problem?"

Maybe the old man was in trouble?

"I say!"

Well, what was this before him! "Your armor, sir, is quite admirable! I would not have imagined something so ... complex!"

Garrus' head tilted and he looked down at the armor he was wearing. It was expensive, surely, but complex? Although looking at what the man was wearing, perhaps he would think so.

"Oh... um, thanks?" he managed, claws rubbing the back of his neck, "Is that what you came over for? To compliment me?" That was a first! Would be nice if it started to happen more often.

Alas - the errant Knight Errant did think that Garrus's very body was armor. Complex indeed! "The weapon you use; it is quite loud and did threaten to startle my steed Rocinante!"

Garrus rested his sniper rifle on his shoulder, looking over the man toward the animal he seemed to be talking about, "Well, this is a gun range. Loud firing noises are usually expected."

"Rest assured, my fine warrior that the only thing you might need a weapon for here is one very wily dragon," did Don Quixote say.

"Dragon?" his mandibles quaked a moment, "I have a friend that's been looking for a dragon here too."

"Is that so?! Perhaps it is my erstwhile squire, one Wade Wilson of Deadpool! He has been aiding my quest to save this village from that beast," came the reply.

"Er, no. It wasn't him." What kind of name was Wade Wilson of Deadpool? "His name's Kili."

"Kili .... Kili .... " That name did not mean anything to the hildago. "Well, the honor of killing the dragon, I hope, shall be mine. I am Don Quixote de la Mancha!"

"Riiight..." Garrus wasn't always the best at humoring the crazies, "Good luck with that. We've been looking for the dragon, but haven't found it yet."

"The dragon is indeed clever. But he shall not escape me for long." Of that, the knight was sure.

At least this man didn't think he was the dragon.

"Although if the dragon hasn't shown up and hasn't hurt anyone..." he shrugged, "Maybe we should be worrying about other things?"

"There was a queen who brokered the same argument - I will have none of it!" the knight declared fervently. "A dragon is indeed a danger and it is my duty as a Knight Errant to strike it down!"

"Alright... I guess I can respect that." he had equal fervor (or maybe more) to strike down Sidonis. Although he had much better reasoning. "If you ever need any help, just let me know."

Because it looked like he might need it. Humans looked so fragile anyway, but this guy seemed even more so.
