Max thankfully doesn't need to cook, he's just taking orders and keeping the counters and tables clean. It's easy and it's work, and Zan is nearby. Jason has been really accommodating to letting him start and bring his son with him. He also knows this is no place to keep a young child all day while he worked. So after sending a message out to the entire village, Max went back to work hoping to find a better solution.
