Only after spending time getting ready (being supervised ever-seriously by Annie), after extracting a promise from the McManuses that they would give life and limb to keep her safe, only after feeling his stomach full of butterflies did Syracuse stand in front of Ruby's door

Ruby was nervous. Like back in Enchanted Forest seeing Peter nervous and she didn't know why. Well, she did but she'd hoped for less butterfly in the stomach to the sound of the knock on her door. She checked herself in the mirror one last time hoping that she wasn't too over dressed for the date but she'd hoped for red for luck. If not cliche for weekend after Valentine's day.

She took a calming breath and opened the door with a smile. Ruby's smile grew when she saw the rose. "You look handsome, come on in."

[ooc: Dude, Polyvore is a time suck addicting place. I made two different outfits for Red and had a million ideas more for my other pups but cut myself off after an hour. LOL]

It took Syracuse a moment to move; she was so bright and alive and beautiful. "Here," he said, holding out the rose. "Annie says hello."

Red took the rose and inhaled deeply then motioned for him to follow her inside. "Is she all right?" Ruby paused and turn to look at him. "I mean after everything." Annie had seemed herself though a little more clinging which was understandable. Ruby was a little more clinging herself since then.

"She's fine." If Syracuse thought about it too much, he might go mad, so it would be best to change the subject. "You look very pretty," he told her. Not pretty of course, but beautiful. Syracuse didn't speak in those terms, though.
