Special people deserve special things [tag Ruby/Red; ota]
It was after school and Christmas was around the corner, school out soon and she'd have a holiday for a few weeks. Annie walked from school toward the village, heading for Tron to see Ruby.
She needed help, you see? To get her Da a present. Annie had money, for the first time she had a small allowance that she had saved up just for this occasion. (Her Da promised that he was making good money here; that they had some unlike back home.)
It wasn't easy trying to figure out what to get the friends she had met here either. Special people like David, Dr. Maura and Harry. Maybe even those Irish twins from Dublin and Boston that worked at the grocery store.
And Mouse. She had to get a present for Mouse. What do giant, magical dogs liked anyway?
Annie was thinking about all this as she walked along the streets, turning the collar of her coat up to get warm, stopping by some of the stores to look in, peruse and get ideas. She arrived at Tron not long after, quickly warmed as she stepped inside, already craning her neck to look for Ruby.
