For someone used to staying silent, being in the woods and hunting with no need to speak, it shouldn't be surprising she'd forget that they had no voices. Even when she hunted with Daryl - Daryl who was gone - they did so in silence.
But it happened too often, each time she would turn to Peeta, Katniss would open her mouth to say something, nothing would come out. She'd scowl, her brows would furrow, and then she went back to whatever it was that she was doing -- rabbit stew, right now.
It was frustrating, and a few days of this was beginning to annoy her that the frown was becoming a permanent fixture on Katniss's expression. Maybe it was evident, too, in the way she was murdering the carrots she was chopping.
