Fact and fiction collide (ota, tag Hermione)

The people that came in and out of the comic book store amazing and amused Leonard in equal amounts. Amazed because there had been so many he'd recognized, amused because he was slightly smug that he knew that they were fictional in his world, and so many people he knew would give their right arm to be having some of the conversations Leonard had ( Read more... )

Finding out there were books about her wasn't the most surprising part. Or at least that books mentioned her. The surprising part had been hearing muggles had access and the whole story was just a piece of fiction for them. The whole situation, Charlie had mentioned Voldemort, was far too serious to be viewed as entertainment. Again, something Charlie had said. Knowing Leonard had known all this time had shocked her even more but she couldn't blame him for not telling her. She understood why. But she was glad that he was willing to let her come talk it through. She needed the support to fully understand it all.

Knocking at his door, she fiddled with her wand a few times as she waited then slipped it back into her pocket.

Sheldon had been chased off to be in his room for a while, which took a lot of persuading and giving up one of his precious rare comic books, but he had most of the place to himself for a little while.

He took a deep breath before opening the door, giving Hermione a gentle smile as he leaned into kiss her. "Hey," he said, awkwardly. How did you have a conversation like this?

Hermione glanced up from her wand as the door opened and his smile was returned with a weak one. The kiss was welcome, it kept her grounded a little, and she reached up to place a hand gently on his cheek as she returned it. Of course, now wasn't the time for anything too in depth so the chaste kiss was perfect.

"Hello. I hope I am not late."

"No, whenever you wanted to come over was perfect," he said, stepping back to let her in. "It's not like we're going out anywhere."

Ororo was walking by the store when an image caught her eye. It was too great of a temptation to pass up and pushed open the door into the shop.
Her blue eyes glanced around until she saw the same on a shelf and picked it up.

ooc: Time for Storm to learn they've made comics of the X-men. *g*

Leonard had been bringing some comics up from the store to fill up some of the gaps that had appeared after Wednesday, and gave the stranger a small smile, not really paying much attention to her. Though it was unusual enough to see a woman on her own in here.

"Can I help you?" he asked her, filling up the gaps.

[ooc: Oh god!]

Ororo had been flipping through the comic of Gambit, reading it with a hint of a smile on her lips. In her eyes, it was no more than the tales the villagers gave of her in Africa.

At the question, she looked up, the smile growing. "Yes, do you have more of these? Featuring Gambit?"

ooc: Don't worry, she'll be okay with it.

"X-men comics? With Gambit? Yeah, we've got a few," Leonard said, pulling out three or four of them. "Well, there are specials with him, he's in a lot of other ones."

Draco had been meaning to drop by the comic book store and investigate the Muggle Granger had become attached to. Plus he'd never been in the place before and was curious. The comic book medium had never appealed to him, but who knew what he would find in Haurvatat?

Enter the blond wizard in warm Muggle clothing, sharp grey eyes looking about for prey.

Leonard had been relaxing behind the counter, idly flicking through the latest Superman comic, but he looked up and smiled at the young man. "Can I help you?" he asked, standing up straighter. Well, as much as he could given he was approximately the height of a hobbit.

Ooohoho!

"Perhaps. You wouldn't be Leonard by any chance?" he asked.

Leonard gave the stranger his full attention, curious now. "Yeah, that's me. Can I help you?"

There was just something about him...

As soon as Kate realized there was a comic book store in Haurvatat, she decided to check it out. She walked in, looking around. It reminded her a lot of her favorite store back home. Now she could get some reading material to occupy her time.

Leonard had a big pile of toys in his arms, ready to put on the shelves, but he could barely see past them, and only narrowly avoided the woman looking around, some of the toys dropping to the ground. "Oh crap, I'm sorry," he said, dropping the rest onto a table to pick the ones up off the floor.

"Not a problem."

She bent down to help him out by picking up a few of the toys. Then she stood, dropping the toys down with the rest on the table.

"You need help carrying these?"

"No, I'm fine normally. Just... can't see round them," he said, giving her a sheepish grin. "Thanks. For picking them up."
