Lying Isn't Easy (Closed to Morgana, Arthur, Lancelot)

It was time. Ygraine could not lie for much longer and although she lived a life where lying was needed at times, she refused to continue doing so to her son. To Morgana. The poor girl acted as though she did not know of her true parentage and that meant either she was good enough at hiding things or she had not yet been told. Either situation was ( Read more... )

Morgana wasn't sure exactly what Ygraine wanted to chat about but assumed it was just a casual gathering with the people that she knew in the village. Rather than dress in modern clothes, as was her habit lately, Morgana had decided to dress in one of her dresses from Camelot. It was a silent acknowledgement to Ygraine's status as Queen of Camelot, even if she was the Queen mother with Gwen's marriage to Arthur.

Her arm slipped through Lancelot's as they headed toward her door, never knowing the strength that she'd need from him.

Arthur could not imagine why Guinevere and Merlin had not been included in the invitation from his mother; he knew it was not a personal issue, and it occurred to him that this might not be a simple get-together.

Puzzling over what she could possibly wish to discuss with the three of them, Arthur went down the hall and knocked on Ygraine's door.

Lancelot was a little nervous at meeting the Queen, mostly because of his and Uther's difficulties. Now that he'd married Morgana...Arthur's acceptance had helped a great deal in getting him past his status as a commoner, but Ygraine knew nothing of him, truly.

Still, he was outwardly calm, and squeezed her hand lightly as they got to the room. Seeing Arthur, he gave his friend--and brother-in-law--an easy smile.

"Good evening, Arthur."

[ooc: Sorry for the lateness, y'all. Crazy week getting ready for classes to start, but I should be on top of things now. :-D]

[ooc: No worries :)]

The knock at the door had her taking a breath and readying herself. She really did need to remain strong and remind herself that they had to be told. She didn't want them to live a life that was a lie. Nor did she want to act like everything wasn't complicated.

"Hello," she said as she opened the door, all three of them there. "Please, come in."

This really wasn't going to be smooth.
