Still, he was outwardly calm, and squeezed her hand lightly as they got to the room. Seeing Arthur, he gave his friend--and brother-in-law--an easy smile.

The knock at the door had her taking a breath and readying herself. She really did need to remain strong and remind herself that they had to be told. She didn't want them to live a life that was a lie. Nor did she want to act like everything wasn't complicated.
"Hello," she said as she opened the door, all three of them there. "Please, come in."
This really wasn't going to be smooth.
