Lucas had spent his day reading, just trying to relax. The conversation with Donna weighed heavily on his mind. He knew that his fears weren't unreasonable, just... he didn't know how to compromise on things.
He glanced up when the door opened. Martha looked... annoyed, frustrated... all things he could easily read on her. He knew just how deep his feelings were for her, he wouldn't be in this state if he didn't. "Everything okay?" he asked almost tentatively.
Lucas watched her as she got rid of the bag, then stood up, intent on making a cup of tea for her. "Surely it can't be that bad?" But he got the sentiment. Sometimes he felt the same.
