Aaron was pretty fond on ice cream as well, in no small part to how much his foster brother had loved it. He was swinging by the Sweet Shop to get a cone when he saw his aunt(?) inside. Smiling, Aaron went in as well.

"Hello, Anna. Great day for ice cream, right?"

She smiled when Anna saw Aaron. "Aaron." It was good to see him. "Every days' a good day for ice cream. Life lesson number twenty-three."

"You'll get no argument from me." Aaron said, getting a large chocolate-vanilla twist cone. "How have you been doing? All recovered from that Reaver business, I hope?"

Anna looked somewhat sheepish, but nodded. "Yeah. I'm a little embarrassed you saw that, actually."

She distracted herself momentarily by scooping some ice cream.

Aaron grinned, waving a hand dismissively. "You think you were embarrassed - I was fighting them for an hour before I realized my fly was open."

"Messy business - I'm glad it's over. Have you seen that new guy yet - name's Xas?"

She laughed gently and shook her head at his retort. He was good at putting people at ease and her shoulders seemed to relax as Anna stood there.

"Xas. Yeah." Anna nodded. "What did you think of him?"

"Honestly, I couldn't get a good read on him at all." Aaron said. "And that's unusual, given that he's one of the Fallen. He seemed ... I get the feeling there's a lot going on in his head."

He didn't want to come out and say that his first reaction was to think that the guy was guy straight-up insane.

"That's probably a good way of describing him." Anna looked at her ice cream. "I'm not exactly sure what he's been up to all these years, but it wasn't like he had the easiest life in Heaven."

Aaron nodded. "You know, as confusing as it was, speaking with him was probably good for me. Spending so much time around Gabriel, and yourself, of course, I tend to forget that angels aren't like humans. I mean, you've all lived so long. Sure I'm half angel, but I'm still just 19."

"You should meet Uriel. He has no sense of humor." Anna wished that was a joke, but she smiled anyways.

"It's even more humbling when you meet someone like Death. Angels are old, but we're not the oldest things around."

"Meet him? Death is a person?" Aaron asked. "Black robe, skeleton, the scythe - that whole thing?"

She laughed gently. "Maybe sometimes, but he looks like a regular person, normally. He's here, too, but don't tell him I said that."

"I'll make a point to try and avoid pissing the guy off." Aaron promised. "I've got enough people trying to kill me as it is."

"In the village?" A look of quiet concern swept over Anna's expression.

"No, I meant generally." Aaron said. "I don't have anyone in particular gunning for me here - at least, as far as I know."

"Good, because then I'd have to kick their asses." She smiled to him as she scooped some ice cream into her out. Anna was relieved to hear Aaron wasn't making enemies in the village.
