The recent spate of thunderstorms had been both annoying and invigorating. The power in the air...yeah, that had been more than a little nice, but the sweltering heat never seemed to go away.
Faye was feeling a little bit lost. As much as she'd skipped it, school had provided a structure, a focus for her life for 13 years. When she didn't have that, she had her coven, but here...there wasn't much of a coven, and now it wasn't even that it was just summertime stretching.
She'd graduated, and she wasn't really sure what to do next. College would have been obvious back home, but she wasn't home and she'd have to go back and finish high school when she got there, so she wasn't sure about that. Classes at the magic school, obviously, but.
She shrugged the thoughts away. It was summer vacation and it wasn't storming, and it was a holiday, as the good little New Englander was well aware. So, she did what she'd always done at home--donned her bikini and grabbed a pack of sparklers and fireworks (for after dark), threw some beer in the cooler, as well as some clams and the necessities of baking them on the beach, and headed toward said stretch of sand to enjoy the day. She sent out messages to her Circle, her boyfriend, and her other friends and hoped someone would join her.
