He dropped Effie back off at her room, and then sent a message to Katniss and the boy, and Rue to make sure someone checked on her like the doctor had recommended.
Then he grabbed a couple bottles of something suitably alcoholic, his knife, some bread (hey Peeta left it on a regular basis), honey butter and a blanket (like a demented picnic) and after a quick check to make sure Effie was sleeping peacefully he left the room. Then he left the hotel and started walking... away.
He didn't have much of a destination in mind, but he'd hurt Effie, a woman who wouldn't hurt a fly on purpose and he'd bruised her, nearly broken her. He could easily have killed her, if he'd been armed - something he didn't think about until Katniss' message asked if he still slept with his knife.
He found a deserted bench in the deserted park, rolled the blanket to use as a pillow and opened up one of the bottles, saluting the watching ducks with it before he began to drink.
