Kyla was on her break at the animal shelter and she decided to look in on the bakery. She wasn't hungry, but she'd use it as an excuse to see how Leoben was doing and if Laura was alright. She was glad they had been able to figure everything out. Laura had a lot more forgiveness in her than Kyla thought she herself had.

Ginger and Ripper stopped obediently at the door as she opened the door and held it open for a teenage couple leaving before stepping inside. When she saw Leoben, the smile was automatic. Kyla waited in the short line until it was her turn. Thankfully there was no one behind her. "Hey."

He smiled when he saw her come in and it stayed on his lips until she was next in line and it was beaming by then.

Her smile turned into a toothy grin and laughed a softly on an exhale. Only Leoben had the ability to make her smile like that.

"I don't think you guys sell what I came in for." Although she had discovered lately she really liked the apple spice muffins even though she had no idea what the spice part was.
