Feelings on the matter [closed to John]

Erica doesn't take issue with the fact that John has a past. She has one - they've both been married, they've both had children. But there are times when it's hard to ignore the fact that he was with a woman who could be her twin. A woman he loved, a woman who loved him. John gets home, and locks up his gun, then comes to where they are lying, kneels down, and wraps them both in a close hug, burying his head against Erica's neck.

"The kid's going to be okay. They still had some vaccine from that time with Alice's boss, and it worked."

"Yeah." He sighed, and stroked her hair, the tension slowly leaving his body.

"I was afraid I've have to do something shitty, but I didn't. You can tell yourself all you want that the little girl is already dead, and it's only your body you're shooting in the head, but you still see yourself as shooting a little girl in the head." But if it had to be done, John would've done it. That's his job.

And really, how can she even be mad about anything at this point? Something always keeps her from saying anything. So she pushes it aside and strokes his cheek.
