Juliet's the doctor on duty tonight, and tonight, she feels a little more exhausted than usual. Her head's in her hands in her office, relieved that the little girl doesn't have a fever or show other signs of being infected. But the whole thing just reminds her of the Halloween after last. John arrives at a jog, slowing to let the doors open for him. When he sees her there he stops, and just looks for a moment, then goes and gives her a hug.

"How's the kid?"

Juliet sags against John, letting herself breathe him in for a second before feeling like she shouldn't, stepping back. It's just...that...was a bad day.

"We have some of the vaccine on hand. It looks like she got here right after she was bit, so I could get it to her in time."

John takes a deep breath, and let's it out in a relieved sigh. He puts a hand on her shoulder, rubbing gently.

"Good. When will you know for sure?"

"As long as she can go the next couple of hours without a fever," Juliet says softly.

"Christ, last week a little girl came in, same age. She'd been impaled. I worked on her for four hours."

Scrubbing her face a little, she just shakes her head.
