The Mexican Restaurant had large booths and the wait staff provided a bowl of what they were told were tortilla chips and smaller bowls of "green" sauce, evidenced by its color and salsa. When the waiter left to fetch their drinks, Charles gave Mattie a wry grin. "Well, here's to new experiences, I suppose, mm?" He carefully picked up a chip and dipped it into the "green" sauce and ate it. He chewed for a moment, then his eyes widened and he dabbed at his mouth with his napkin. "It's quite ... spicy," he admitted, a flush coming to his cheeks.
