Beatrix awakened, as she did on most days, still cuddling her daughter’s stuffed lion she found on arrival. Giving the faux fur a few more strokes, she laid it back on the pillow. She laid back a moment, considering. When she found out she was pregnant with BB, she had every intention of leaving her life behind. Did she think it would work? She doubted it, truthfully.
“I’m calling you a killer. A natural born killer. You always have been, and you always will be.”
Bill’s words still echoed in her ears, because her worst fear was that Bill was right. Most of her life was spent in violence, embracing it. It wasn’t until she was pregnant with BB she even considered giving it up for a normal existence.
Her conversation with Morgana, especially on having the ability to mold her life into whatever she chose here, weighed just as heavily on her mind. A second chance she’d been willing to die for on her world. Without BB, it seemed pointless, though. She had her revenge. So far, no one in this village had pissed her off yet. Maybe it was time to try to restart her life. Leave the swordfighter behind and just be Beatrix. She took a shower, and changed into her jeans and a t-shirt. She sat back on the bed, looking at the sword resting against the wall. She envied Hattori Hanzo. To be able to comply give up the sword making and training and be perfectly content running a little sushi house in Okinawa. She wondered if she had that kind of strength.
She shook it off quickly. Stewing and second guessing never got her or anyone else anywhere. She decided to explore the village on her own. She roamed the streets, looking at the storefronts, and people. She stopped dead in her tracks, seeing The Helix music store. It brought a much needed smile to her face. It looked like Tommy’s in El Paso, and reminded her of happier times they had spent together. So much so, she gave into that feeling if nostalgia, and went in.
(OOC: Feel free to catch her anywhere along the way.)
