Joslire knocked on Erica's door with Laila in one arm and her bag over his shoulder. She doesn't have baby food, or formula, and only wears a diaper to bed, but Joslire brought bananas and things that could be safely eaten by all but the youngest, as well as the rest of they diapers they own.

Laila is quiet, holding onto her father with big eyes, because she knows something is wrong.

Erica answers and was expecting Laura to be with him, so her smile at Laila turns into a worried frown when she looks at Joslire.

"...Is she at the bakery?"

"She is supposed to be, but there is no answer." Joslire kisses Laila and makes to put her down.

"I have to go."

Laila cries out and brings both arms around Joslire's neck, not wanting to be left, no matter how well she knows Erica.

Zoe had headed off to lead her unit as soon as she could, not worrying about the fact that she'd only given birth a week before. Wash had been given the task of looking after Maya - one he was happy to undertake.

When the call from Erica came in, he gathering up a few things he'd need, including a gun so he could protect Maya if needed (who was in the dinosaur sling that Zoe had given him), and giving River the option to come with him if she wanted to. It wasn't long before he was knocking on her door, trying to quieten a Maya who was by now upset. Once inside, he was pacing, his usual worry about Zoe being out fighting warring with concern about Maya, and trying to be calm for a daughter who could pick up on Wash's distress.

Erica goes to him once she's made some rounds and sits next to him, Madeline shifting and wriggling, trying to decide whether or not she's upset or not.

"Try holding her low and swinging your arms," Erica says, demonstrating with Maddie who quiets down at the motion.

Wash nodded, following what Erica had demonstrated, and gave a sigh of relief as Maya began to settle. "Amazin' how much she can pick up on," he murmured, sitting down beside her.

"The only thing baby's have to go on is what's around them. Even toddlers are smarter than we give them credit it for. They know."

She looks over at Laila who is sucking her thumb tearfully against Aibileen who has come to help. "Her mother is missing. No one's actually told a toddler that. But maybe they don't have to."

There was a lot of crazy stuff going on. All the shooting and the robot things and all the panic. For once when he saw the message, Tate thought of something he might do to actually help. He got his teddy bear and his dump truck and slipped into the room in the message, seeing the little girl and the toys. "I brought these. To play with."

Angel looks up at him, wings tucked in against her back. She's not allowed to read minds, but there's something...

She smiles at the teddy bear though. "I have some like. Lots of people got one for me."

"Did they?" He crouched down, the truck and bear in front of her. "My girlfriend gave me this one. Do you need some help?"

"There's bad things in the village," Angel says seriously. "They want to hurt everyone."

Marian was understandably worried. Normally in times of danger she felt comfortable in her own skill and knew she could handle what was thrown her way. However now that she had a baby, only four days old, she was less inclined to go off. It helped that Robin had decided to carry out his village guard duties, for now, here protecting those who had gathered. But that didn't stop her worrying and her constant checking of Scarlet in her arms.

Robert was on the team that protected the school. Since school was not in session, he took himself to the room where the youngest children were gathered, and stood guard outside the door.
