Jaina frowned at the dark-haired young woman, one of her students, who stood a few feet in front of her. A patch of land just to the side of the girl was brown and black, charred and dead by some means.
The girl, Bellatrix, had her arms crossed, defiant expression covering her features. When she was asked what had happened to the earth beside her, she gave a shrug and the tiniest of smirks.
"Recklessness with magic will only be a downfall for you," Jaina said plainly,
eyeing the wand in Bellatrix's hand. When Bellatrix saw that her professor's eyes had gone, her hand gripped slightly in defense on her wand.
"Who said I was being reckless? I wasn't casting curses on anyone or anything."
That brought a flash of disturbance through Jaina's eyes, but she gave a light sigh after a moment. "Pointless magic is a waste of your energy. For someone who has been studying magic her entire life? It's nothing to be proud of to funnel any of your magic into," she waved toward the patch of dead earth, "that."
Bellatrix made a face, and as she was about to say something, Jaina swept past her and into the magic school. True, a tiny piece of land being burned--or whatever Bellatrix had done--didn't really matter, but she sensed something darker in the girl that she didn't like at all.
Being left there alone, Bellatrix turned and gave a frown in the direction Jaina left. Frown turning into a scowl, she moved to sit on the steps of the magic school, looking up to the sky. Really, she was bored more than anything. What did some stupid woman from some stupid world that no one had ever heard of know, anyway? At least people had heard of the country and town she was from.

Inside the magic school, Minerva sat at a table in the library looking through a large book.
She knew that strange happenings occurred in the village often: she'd been there to see many of them. Turning into a younger version of herself had been enough to push her into trying to look through some of the more obscure texts of the magic school's library to see if there was actually anything related to Haurvatat at all.
Minerva rarely let her emotions run rampant, but she'd felt so weak and helpless as a teenager, and when the book she was looking at proved to be worthless, she shut it with a loud clap and sighed. It was also very rare for her to dismayed, but perhaps this was a fruitless endeavor. Yet, there were always ways to learn more, wasn't there? That was how any world was supposed to operate. Otherwise, what was the point of living? She didn't consider that she wasn't supposed to learn the secrets of the village as she stood, moving to get search for another book.
Truthfully, she looked out of place there, almost like a student again. She was focused on finding anything to help, eyes scanning the spines of books.
[OOC: Feel free to interrupt the first conversation, or catch Jaina walking through the school/in her classroom; and Bellatrix outside. Catch Minerva in the library.]
